Hola, amigos de #geekzone. Hoy continuamos con la aventura en Tandem, A Tale of Shadows. En esta oportunidad nos encontramos en el interior de la Mansión Kane, específicamente en el sótano, donde nos enfrentamos a toda clase de peligros y nuevas mecánicas. Para aquellos que se perdieron el gameplay anterior, Tandem es un juego de puzzles con elementos de plataformas en el cual asumimos los roles de una niña y un oso de felpa viviente. Ambos intentan escapar de una misteriosa mansión mientras buscan descubrir la desaparición del hijo de un famoso mago.

En este segundo nivel, llamado "Cuarto de Calderas", la dificultad aumenta. Nos encontramos con charcos de lodo que dificultan nuestro avance, así como nuevas mecánicas que nos ayudarán a crear nuevas rutas de sombras para el progreso de Fenton a través de un sistema de tuberías y un líquido sospechoso al que solo puedo referirme como tinta. Esto me lleva al siguiente punto de dificultad: nuestros nuevos enemigos, unos pulpos (¿o calamares?) superdesarrollados con el instinto asesino de un tiburón. Estos no dudarán en atacarnos y matarnos con sus tentáculos si cometemos el error de acercarnos a ellos.

A pesar de lo fácil que pueda parecer el juego, es necesario prestar mucha atención a todo el entorno para lograr avanzar. Hubo un punto en el que simplemente no lograba ver qué debía hacer, y solo era necesario fijarme en una pequeña abertura en la pared por donde debía pasar el personaje. Todas estas cosas hacen que el avance se demore, y aunque mi intención era grabar todo el capítulo como la vez pasada, mi progreso fue tan lento que tuve que dejar "Las Calderas" a la mitad; de lo contrario, el video fácilmente habría sido de dos horas.

A pesar de las dificultades (culpa de mi falta de manos, no del juego), la he estado pasando muy bien con Tandem, ya que es justamente lo que me gusta: resolver puzzle tras puzzle, cada vez más complicados y elaborados. Algo que noté en estos niveles es que el rendimiento del juego comenzó a ser algo irregular. Tuve que bajar un poco más la calidad de los gráficos para lograr una buena fluidez. Así que, si tienen una computadora algo antigua como la mía, no les puedo asegurar que el juego vaya a funcionar perfectamente.

Exploring the Boilers | Tandem, A Tale of Shadows

Hello, #geekzone friends. Today we continue the adventure in Tandem, A Tale of Shadows. This time we find ourselves inside Kane Manor, specifically in the basement, where we face all sorts of dangers and new mechanics. For those who missed the previous gameplay, Tandem is a puzzle game with platforming elements in which we assume the roles of a girl and a living teddy bear. Both try to escape from a mysterious mansion while seeking to discover the disappearance of the son of a famous magician.

In this second level, called "The Boilers", the difficulty increases. We encounter mud puddles that hinder our progress, as well as new mechanics that will help us create new shadow paths for Fenton's progress through a system of pipes and a suspicious liquid that I can only refer to as ink. This brings me to the next point of difficulty: our new enemies, overdeveloped octopuses (or squids?) with the killer instinct of a shark. These will not hesitate to attack and kill us with their tentacles if we make the mistake of approaching them.

Despite how easy the game may seem, you need to pay close attention to the entire environment to make progress. There was a point where I simply couldn't see what I was supposed to do, and all I had to do was look at a small opening in the wall where the character had to pass through. All these things make progress slow, and although my intention was to record the whole chapter like last time, my progress was so slow that I had to leave "Las Calderas" in the middle; otherwise, the video would have easily been two hours long.

Despite the difficulties (the fault of my lack of hands, not the game), I've been having a great time with Tandem, since that's exactly what I like: solving puzzle after puzzle, each time more complicated and elaborate. One thing I noticed in these levels is that the game's performance started to get a bit spotty. I had to lower the graphics quality a bit more to achieve a good fluidity. So, if you have an old computer like mine, I can't assure you that the game will run perfectly.
