The crucifixion of Jesus: Is it on the stake or on the cross?

We have to work hard to resist the temptation set for us by Satan. Mt. 10:22 reminds us that we shall be hated by men for the sake of Christ, noting that those who endure to the end shall be saved.

2Tim. 4:6 is where Saint Paul announced that he was ready to be offered as the time of his departure was near. He said he had fought a good flight, and finished his course in verse 7.

Even after doing all we are supposed to to do, we should not boast about it. We must be humble. So, good works are necessary for salvation as Phil. 2:12 admonishes us to work out our salvation.

The original word employed in the original Greek version is stauros. And the scripture saying Jesus was crucified on the cross does not contradict anything. There's no contradiction in the word of God. Prov. 8:8-9 says all the words of God are in righteousness, and that there are all plain and right to him that understands.

The words of God are simply and plain truth. In Prov. 1:23, God says if we turn to his reproof, he will put his spirit in us and make us understand his words. So, we need to follow his commandments in order to understand him.
