Continúo alejado del Metal pero solo momentáneamente. La historia de esta grabación inicia luego de que me encontrara yo ensayando un solo de la banda Metallica y de pronto mi novia me dice:

• "Graba un solo de guitarra para mí".
• Como cuál? Le respondí.
• "Compláceme con un solo de Maná".

Me gustó la idea obviamente y luego de conversar un rato con la finalidad de elegir el solo, tomamos la decisión de que el solo sería el del tema "Como un perro enloquecido".

Hivers, how have you been doing?
I'm still away from Metal but only momentarily. The story of this recording starts after I was rehearsing a solo of the band Metallica and suddenly my girlfriend says to me:

• "Record a guitar solo for me".
• Like what? I replied.
• "Please me with a Maná solo".

I obviously liked the idea and after talking for a while with the purpose of choosing the solo, we decided that the solo would be the one from the song "Como un perro enloquecido".

La canción Cómo un perro enloquecido es la primera del cuarto album de Maná denominado Cuando los angeles lloran lanzado en 1995. El tema esta compuesto en Mi mayor y el solo está basado en la escala pentatonica de Do# menor.

Me encantó este solo ya que tiene algo de agresividad, tal vez por eso me sentí un tanto cómodo. Me tomó por sorpresa la técnica de tapping que usa el guitarrista en la primera parte, tuve que practicarlo unas cuantas veces porque no hallaba el "tempo" y después de un rato entendí como funciona la frase. Luego aparece un armónico de pulgar bien interesante, muy característico de los solos del género Metal. La parte rápida, por suerte para mí, es corta (risas), se hace compleja poque inmediatamente después de terminar esta frase rápida viene un full y hay que ser bastante preciso para mantener el tiempo. Al final este fue el resultado, creo quedó aceptable; al menos ella quedó contenta!

The song "Cómo un perro enloquecido" is the first song from Maná's fourth album "Cuando los angeles lloran" released in 1995. The song is composed in E major and the solo is based on the pentatonic scale of C# minor.

I loved this solo as it has some aggressiveness to it, maybe that's why I felt a bit comfortable. I was taken by surprise by the tapping technique that the guitarist uses in the first part, I had to practice it a few times because I couldn't find the "tempo" and after a while I understood how the phrase works. Then a very interesting thumb harmonic appears, very characteristic of the solos of the Metal genre. The fast part, fortunately for me, is short (laughs), but it gets complex because immediately after finishing this fast phrase comes a full full and you have to be quite precise to keep the tempo. In the end this was the result, I think it was acceptable; at least she was happy!

Decidí grabar una guitarra rítmica ya que la pista de acompañamiento solo incluía bajo y batería. La grabe con una distorsión muy suave, casi imperceptible y para la base que acompaña al solo si utilicé la misma distorsión con que grabé el solo.

Cabe destacar que la letra del tema no tiene nada que ver con la elección del tema (risas), la canción la eligió por el solo de guitarra exclusivamente.

Espero a ustedes también les guste. Pronto volveré con más solos de guitarra para ustedes y bueno, al parecer será otro de esta misma banda (Maná) ya que mi novia me pidió un segundo solo así que ya estoy comprometido con eso.
