Volvemos con METALLICA mis buenos amigos de HIVE ! Cómo les ha ido a los integrantes de la la maravillosa comunidad de Music ? Espero bien!

Metallica es una de esas bandas que para mí resulta imposible no hacer un cover cada tanto tiempo, y es que con solo escucharla ya provoca tomar la guitarra y grabar.

Ojalá pudiera simplemente tomar la guitarra y grabar pero no es tan sencillo, cada vez que me dispongo a grabar un tema o solo de esta banda me encuentro con sorpresas y detalles que me obligan a tomarme un tiempo.

We are back with METALLICA my good friends from HIVE ! How have the members of the wonderful Music community been doing ? I hope well!

Metallica is one of those bands that for me it's impossible not to cover every so often, and just listening to them makes me pick up the guitar and record.

I wish I could just pick up the guitar and record but it's not that easy, every time I get ready to record a song or a solo of this band I find surprises and details that force me to take my time.

Hace poco días estuve escuchando el tema "And justice for all" , segundo tema de su cuarto álbum que lleva el mismo nombre del tema y me dije a mi mismo: "¡este es un temazo!" Tenía mucho tiempo sin escucharlo completo la verdad, y es que el tema dura más de nueve minutos, una locura!

Yo conocí este tema en la adolescencia, se podrán imaginar la cantidad de veces que lo he escuchado. Las primeras veces que lo escuché fue con un disco de acetato que tenía mi hermano en casa. Actualmente tengo este álbum en formato CD.

El solo consta de dos partes, la primera más melódica, mientras que la segunda parte es más rápida e intensa, basado en la escala pentatonica de F#m y recursos como el doble stops, licks con cuerdas al aire y armónicos, todo muy característico en el estilo de Kirk Hammett (guitarrista líder de la banda). Hay una sección en la canción original dónde se puede apreciar el uso de Wah-Wah , también muy empleado por este guitarrista en la actualidad pero yo decidí grabar esa parte sin este afecto porque considere se escuchaba bien sin el.

A few days ago I was listening to the song "And justice for all". , second track of their fourth album that bears the same name of the theme and I said to myself: "this is a great song!" I had a long time without listening to it in its entirety, and the fact is that the song lasts more than nine minutes, crazy!

I knew this song when I was a teenager, you can imagine how many times I have listened to it. The first times I listened to it was with an acetate record that my brother had at home. Nowadays I have this album in CD format.

The solo consists of two parts, the first one more melodic, while the second part is faster and more intense, based on the pentatonic scale of F#m and resources such as double stops, licks with strings in the air and harmonics, all very characteristic of Kirk Hammett's style (lead guitarist of the band). There is a section in the original song where you can appreciate the use of Wah-Wah, also very used by this guitarist nowadays but I decided to record that part without this effect because I considered that it sounded good without it.

También grabé la guitarra rítmica de las estrofas, que si bien son frases muy repetitivas representa un reto el hecho de tener que memorizarlas por lo extensas que son.

Con este tema voy a celebrar que supere los HP 700. Ahí vamos poco a poco. I also recorded the rhythm guitar for the verses, which although they are very repetitive phrases, it is a challenge to memorize them because of their length.
