Once again I had a very busy day so I only had the time to squeeze in a very short practice time and hence a short little video.
It's probably clear by now that Led Zeppelin is my favorite band in the world and one of my life goals is to be able to play all of their songs on guitar someday. Yes, all of them!
I still have a long way to go, but I'm slowly getting there!
Today, I decided to play their classic blues theme Since I've Been Loving You up to the first chorus. This song has a simple structure but Page does a LOT of guitar fills and licks all the way through the song so it's a little hard to get it 100%. Also, the song is very linear and with the lack of vocals in the intro it's a little hard to memorize the cues of all the guitar bits.
For that reason, I left the lead guitar on the backing track to guide me through the intro. I tried to set it very low, but you can still hear it sometimes, especially in the "heavy" part of the intro, where I kinds messed up a bit :P
Anyway, still a work in progress but I'm proud of my progress so far on this great song! It's a great song to practice blues improv (if you don't want to play the guitar lines exactly as Page) and also to practice playing dynamics, as it's a very important part of the song. So, try not to compress your tone too much and really explore that volume knob!
The gear is, as usual, my beautiful Tele, a Boss OD-20 and a Meteoro Amp.
I hope you enjoy it and all feedback is much appreciated!
