Our last classical music concert (Eng-Esp)

A few days ago @mipiano made a post in which he showed us the string orchestra "Harmonie Ensemble" with its delicate and exquisite sound in a concert in the parish Nuestra Señora de la Consolación, we understand that they are from the city of Altea, Spain (please dear correct us if we are wrong); in this post he generated the question: When was the last time you visited a classical music concert? we answered this question but as mipiano's genius has no limits, she suggested us to tell the story of that concert and of course what went through our minds was: Why didn't we think of it before? 🤦.

We currently live in Lima, Peru, we are here since February 2018 but we are actually from the city of Maracay, Venezuela. One of the prides of this city is its majestic Teatro de la Opera, and the above connotation is not an exaggeration, a few years ago it was completely remodeled and the results speak for themselves.

Hace unos días @mipiano realizó un post en el que nos mostraba a la orquesta de cuerdas "Harmonie Ensemble" con su delicado y exquisito sonido en un concierto en la parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Consolación, entendemos que ellos son de la ciudad de Altea, España (por favor querida nos corriges si estamos equivocados); en este post generó la interrogante: When was the last time you visited a classical music concert?, nosotros respondimos a esta pregunta pero pero como la genialidad de mipiano no tiene límites, nos sugirió que contáramos la historia de ese concierto y por supuesto que lo que pasó por nuestras mentes fue: ¿Por qué no se nos ocurrió antes? 🤦‍♀.

Actualmente vivimos en Lima, Perú, estamos acá desde febrero del año 2018 pero en realidad somos de la ciudad de Maracay, Venezuela. Uno de los orgullos de esta ciudad es su majestuoso Teatro de la Opera, y la connotación antes indicada no es una exageración, hace unos pocos años fue totalmente remodelado y los resultados hablan por solos.

We must confess that we are also very proud of this theater and how could we not be, the city is small and architectural works like this are not abundant. But we are not here to give you a review of the theater, it is just that we thought it would be convenient to tell you a little about it to put it in context. The thing is that in November 2017 a symphonic tribute to The Beatles was scheduled and my boss (Omar's) at that time invited me to go along with her husband and of course us (Dina and Omar), I did not think twice and gladly accepted the invitation.

It was a gala night and of course it deserved it, what was going to happen was something important. One thing that we regret very much today was not taking pictures, in fact yesterday I wrote to my former boss to ask her if she had any pictures of that night and her answer was literally "Nooo, I don't have any of that"; so we have nothing left but to tell you in words about our experience.

One important thing to mention, my birthday (Omar) is November 23 and now that I remember the reason for the invitation from my former boss was precisely that, the exact day of the concert was November 24 so everything was aligned, we leave you below the promotion made by the theater through its Instagram profile.

Debemos confesarles que nosotros también estamos muy orgullosos de este teatro ¿y cómo no estarlo?, la ciudad es pequeña y las obras arquitectónicas como estas no abundan. Pero no estamos acá para hacerles una reseña del teatro, es solo que creímos conveniente hablarles un poco de este para entrar en contexto. La cuestión es que en noviembre del 2017 se programó un homenaje sinfónico a The Beatles y mi jefa (de Omar) de ese momento me hizo la invitación para que fuéramos ella junto con su esposo y por supuesto nosotros (Dina y Omar), no lo pensé dos veces y con mucho gusto acepté dicha invitación.

Era una noche de gala y por supuesto que lo ameritaba, lo que iba a pasar era algo importante. Una cosa que lamentamos muchísimo hoy en día fue no haber tomado fotos, de hecho el día de ayer le escribí a mi ex jefa para preguntarle si tenía fotos de esa noche y su respuesta literalmente fue "Nooo, no tengo nada de eso"; así que no nos queda mas sino que contarles con solo palabras nuestra experiencia.

Una cosa importante que mencionar, mi cumpleaños (Omar) es el 23 de noviembre y ahora que recuerdo el motivo de la invitación de parte de mi ex jefa precisamente era ese, el día exacto del concierto era el 24 de noviembre así que todo estaba alineado, les dejamos abajo la promoción realizada por el teatro a través de su perfil de Instagram.

The appointment was at 7 P.M. and of course we arrived minutes before, it was the first time we went to the theater after being remodeled, we went around the place and believe us the pictures do not lie, everything was perfect and in its place. Without wasting any more time, we went to our seats and after a few words from the theater manager, surprisingly he was the one who sang the first song of the night, you may think that he did this because of his influence and you may be right but the truth is that he was talented and worthy of opening the event.

The repertoire was very extensive, we would say that we enjoyed about 2 hours of classics and hits of these historic Englishmen, it was the Maracay Youth Symphony Orchestra who gave shape to the event, they added choirs and of course drums, electric bass, electric guitar and a keyboard, these last elements obviously could not be missing because they were the ones used by The Beatles in their time.

Songs like "Hey Jude", "Don't Let Me Down" and "All You Need Is Love" brought applause from all present, the young talents alternated between songs and none of them disappointed. Other songs such as "Yesterday", "Get Back", "Yellow Submarine", "Oh! Darling" and many others were not long in coming and aroused emotions among the varied audience in which we could notice several generations.

It was a rounded night that surprised us because the event exceeded our expectations, everything was very well organized and the level of the musicians was high, all the technical and human elements were aligned to give us a special moment that we still remember with great esteem.

La cita era a las 7 P.M. y por supuesto llegamos minutos antes, era primera vez que íbamos al teatro luego de haber sido remodelado, dimos una vuelta por el lugar y créannos que las fotos no mienten, todo estaba perfecto y en su lugar. Sin perder mas tiempo, fuimos a nuestros asientos y luego de unas palabras del administrador del teatro, sorpresivamente fue este quien cantó la primera canción de la noche, quizá puedas pensar que logró esto por su influencia y puede que tengas razón pero la verdad es que era talentoso y digno de abrir el evento.

El repertorio fue muy amplio, diríamos que disfrutamos de unas 2 horas de clásicos y éxitos de estos históricos ingleses, era la Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Maracay quienes daban forma al evento, agregaron coros y por supuesto batería, bajo eléctrico, guitarra eléctrica y un teclado, estos últimos elementos evidentemente no podían faltar porque eran los que usaban The Beatles en sus tiempos.

Canciones como "Hey Jude", "Don't Let Me Down" y "All You Need Is Love" arrancaban los aplausos de todos los presentes, los jóvenes talentos se alternaban entre canciones y ninguno decepcionaba. Otros temas como "Yesterday", "Get Back", "Yellow Submarine", "Oh! Darling" y muchos otros mas no se hacían esperar y despertaban emociones entre la variada audiencia en la que pudimos notar varias generaciones.

Fue una noche redonda que nos sorprendió porque el evento superó nuestras expectativas, todo estuvo muy bien organizado y el nivel de los músicos fue alto, todos los elementos técnicos y humanos se alinearon para brindarnos un momento especial y que aun recordamos con mucha estima.
