    About :
Hello Everyone, welcome to Afri-tunes week #90. I trust everyone is doing okay, for this week I've decided to perform the secular song as suggested in the community and I'm super excited about this one 😉. I'd be performing "Jelo" by Nigerian record producer, singer and songwriter Pheelz. Jelo is a yoruba word which means continous winning. I have chosen this song as it's one of my favourite songs presently, well-written, the beat, the Background vocals.... everything so nice about the song. Pheelz features Young Jonn on this jam.

Jelo is a song that celebrates the artistes rise to fame and success, appreciation for their achievements looking on where they came from. The lyrics of the song shows a sense of gratitude to the one true God for blessing them and making them achieve what they have so far. Sometimes talent and hardwork just ain't enough, we need the grace of God to breathe upon all our endeavours.

In the first verse, Pheelz reminisces about his humble beginnings in Bariga, a neighborhood in Lagos, Nigeria, where it was proper hard for them. He makes mention of Sapa and Bukata which means being broke and having so much needs to cater for. He tells us the music was his source of his liberation, kind of an escape for him so he was really dedicated to it which has made him successful. He promises to keep doing what he loves (music) till the kingdom comes. He brags that you must dance and enjoy his music. He then goes on to thank God for the package (talent) bestowed upon him. I do hope you all enjoy 🎧 my cover of this jam, as I had fun making this one 😊... Enjoy the rest of your week 🥂.
