Hail to the Hive!
After about 5 days staying close to the Braunston Junction and consuming entirely too much coffee from @vanbliss's horse trailer coffee shop conversion, it's time to go. Always feel sad to be leaving places these days yet happy to be back moving. This seems to be the life of a watery nomad. Always saying goodbye and always moving on but the moving on brings new hellos and either new encounters with new peope or reunions with old friends. I can think of worse ways of living. Being in one place would be too much like a gold fish bowl existence for me. Maybe my bowl is just a little larger, i don't know.
So today we set off aiming towards Leicester but we must get off the Oxford Canal and on to the Grand Union Leicester arm and there are tunnels to pass through. Glad the new engine is working fine! Passing through the tunnels with the old engine was a heart in mouth experience that always had me listening to every little sound of the engine and hoping it wouldn't die half way through.
Join us on this leg of the journey and tak in the beautiful English countryside and view it from the perspective of man made canals dug by hand over 200 years ago.
