She wished me to take her to the Mahotsav and it gives immense pleasure to fulfill her wish. Mahotsav is a trade fair that are organized at different places and this one is hosted every year, very close to our home. Typically these big fairs are hosted during Winter, so that people can enjoy the fair without getting tired or sweating. Old people need too little but that little too much. She had asked me before two weeks if I can come, but then as you read my last post, I did not inform her about my accident, because I know, it will pinch her a lot. As I felt little better, I decided to seek her blessings first by going to my native and then narrate her the incidence. Seeing me fine makes her worry a little but what she told surprised me. She had real bad dreams just the previous night of the day of my accident which indicated something bad was about to come. Some may call this a coincidence, but it is some sort of warning that the divine gives us.
Arrived early in the evening and after waling to the venue, she suggested we first have a glimpse of all the stalls before doing any purchase. There were a lot of crowd and the downside of these trade fairs are severe air pollution because of dust. So I advised her to wear a mask.
The center of attraction was the musical melody being performed by live artists - long time back I had experienced. It's all free.
There was a sitting area and we enjoyed some moments there. And then she started the shopping. She has her list of things to look out - tea cup was one of them.
She did not find suitable ones in couple of shops - very specific about what she needs.
And finally, she found those small cups that would accommodate half big cup of tea. And the cost - only ten rupees each. You have to buy minimum six pieces giving sixty rupees, but that was affordable for everyone. We brought ten - six for her and four for my wife - she too likes small cups. The good thing about this cheap small cups is that, it does not pinch you, if it breaks or you discard after using for some times. The same cup with good quality will cost you sixty each in big shops. The quality does not matter a lot when it breaks 😀
And then she was looking for something to take out the ash out of our wood chulah but this man was quoting a higher price - she knows how much they should charge.
Artificial but beautiful and budget friendly flowers for home.
Ever enjoyed this ? The moment when it comes down is a unique experience and me and my daughter love it. The place is full of such activities and this is the crowd puller.
We were back to our shopping.
Anything in this shop was ten rupees and she what she grabbed. Cost effective management - the tea filter is an everyday need.
A jewellery shop where you can get jewelries that does not need insurance - thief will regret stealing it 😀
The paan shop - preparing the next batch of deliverables.
She bought a gold chain as well. Small things but look at the happiness at her face.
The mega bangles shop - not cheap but she bought bangles because we went here - some memory.
All varieties of Ray-Ban glasses available here.
A utility and decorative shop - did not have power, I felt, they should have arranged good lighting - to trigger sales. And then comes another main attraction of these fairs - some mouth watering foods.
Some people are mad about these and come daily to just eat these.
After some time my best friend joined us - he was busy but when he heard I am there, he postponed his work and joined us - with his son.
Who does not love pickles !! You get lot of varieties at one place here.
She got couple of packets of incense sticks - a packet costs 100/- and two 150/- , mind blowing pricing so that every one will get two thinking that its a loss otherwise.
Another shop with some native products from the villages - she got a kg of Horsegram Dal - ever tasted it ? You would love it.
Coming back some other shops.
Finally she got what she wanted. And another pickle shop - this one had more varieties.
Enjoying their sell - not a lot of profit but then they enjoy the time. And we enjoyed the time - it's these little happiness that matters a lot for them. The next morning as soon as my father got up, he was asking if I can bring some fish - a voracious non-veg lover who can eat every day, more than once.
We don't get these export quality prawns , but luckily it was there. The price is a bit high at 900/- kg, but its less compared to cities. Got a kg of that and the other fish that dad asked for. And she cooked it nicely - we have a cook but since I was there, she was super charged to cook. It's these moments that inspires us to live for each other.
