Hi dear friends, I am Samuel and my friend Frans is back at the weekly Hive #openmic event which has entered its 131st week with the theme "Orgullo Patrio" in English is "National Pride". This theme was chosen by our friend @lasembradora. She is one of the senior hive singers who has a melodious and beautiful voice. This is a great theme for this week as we will be performing a cover of a song called “Tanah Airku” by Ibu Soed. She is an anthem composer and music teacher. The songs written by Mrs. Soed are very popular in education circles.
The song that we will be performing today is a song about the form of love for the homeland, nation, and country. I think this is an important attitude for everyone. The attitude of love for the homeland is a reflection of the behavior of guarding, defending, and protecting the homeland. People who love their homeland will be willing to sacrifice for the sake of their nation and country. It's not enough to stop there, loving the customs and culture of the country is also an attitude of love for the homeland. They will preserve the culture that has been passed down by their ancestors.
There are many ways for us to show love for the homeland, one of which is to fight for the name of the nation or state. Usually with achievement paths such as sports, arts, to science. They are very proud to carry their country's flag to compete at the international level for the good name of the nation and state. Some become the military to defend the dignity of the nation and state. Those are just a few small examples. You can all love your country and nation through small things, such as buying local products and being proud to use them.
Back to the Hive Open Mic theme, below are the lyrics of the song we performed today.
“Tanah air ku tidak kulupakan
Kan terkenang selama hidupku
Biarpun saya pergi jauh
Tidak kan hilang dari kalbu
Tanah ku yang kucintai
Engkau kuhargai
Walaupun banyak negeri kujalani
Yang masyhur permai dikata orang
Tetapi kampung dan rumahku
Di sanalah ku rasa senang
Tanah ku tak kulupakan
Engkau kubanggakan
Tanah ku yang kucintai
Engkau kuhargai”
“I don't forget my homeland
I will remember all my life
Even if I go far
Will not disappear from the heart
My land that I love
I appreciate you
Even though I live in many countries
What is famous is what people say
But my village and home
That's where I feel happy
I don't forget my land
You are proud
My land that I love
I appreciate you”
That's all I can tell you. Thank you very much for visiting my post. I hope you are entertained by the musical performances that we provide. Below we also include a link from their youtube video if you want to listen to the song from the original version. Thank you and nice to meet you.
