I'm here again sharing with you some music with my mandolin. The song I bring you today is called "La zapoara", a song that marked my childhood, as it was very popular to play it when we started playing an instrument, because it was part of the traditional songs of Venezuela and also because it was a fairly simple harmony.

The zapoara, is a Venezuelan merengue rhythm, I played it in the key of C major, it was written by a great artist Simon Diaz, and was popularized by a group known as Serenata Guayanesa.

This version that I bring you is only instrumental, but this song has very particular lyrics because it mentions in it, a trip to a city in Venezuela known as Ciudad Bolivar, and in which upon arriving at the place, a guayanesa (woman) makes a recommendation, which was that if he came to eat "La zapoara" which is a very common fish in the state, he had to cut his head. The stubborn person decided to eat the fish with the head, and it was the worst mistake he could make.

For me it is undoubtedly a very particular lyric, and I find it interesting how from a happy story, in the form of an anecdote, the author was inspired to create this song. That makes us think of that phrase that says Music is in everything, in the sad moments, in the memories, in the events, in the emotions, in the laughter, in the air.

I for one always appreciate, and it brings back good memories to play this song, so I hope you like it, a hug for everyone.
