“Punktronic Disco Dirge – Ep. 32! (Pirate Radio!!!)” - Selections by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

I can see the effects of the sun through my window. There is an odd BRIGHTNESS to the world, which produces both happiness and cancer! (The Universe is mad.) (But we shall have our revenge by being MADDER than the rest of the Cosmos! Ha!!!) So---as spring careens towards summer, it occurs to me that music could be useful in fulfilling that transformation! (I will write an entire post on the “USES” of music soon. This topic is bubbling and boiling in my brain…but now is the time for the listening, not the scripting of thoughts…)

    Tally-HOOOOOO!

Punktronic Disco Dirge – Ep. 32
Approx 1 hour and 6 minutes

    [Intro things..]

---Screeching Weasel – “Cool Kids” from Weasel Mania (2005) (song originally released in 1996)
---Les Rita Mitsouko – “C’est Comme Ca” from The No Comprendo (1986)

---The Essence – “Only for You” from Dancing in the Rain – Best of The Essence (1994) (song originally released in 1988)
---The Dark Flowers feat. David J – “Death Valley 69” from Death and Desire EP (2021)
---The Newlydeads – “Cities in Dust” from The Newlydeads (1997)
---Silver Apples – “Edge of Wonder (Andrew Weatherall Remix)” from Oscillations 2019 single (original version of song released in 2012)

---Bally Sagoo – “Tum Bin Jiya (Remix)” from SuperMegaUltra – Non-Stop Sampler ’97 (1997) (song originally released in 1996)
---Drum Club – “Sound System” from Plug In + Turn On (1994) (song originally released in 1993)

    [Reading of the list!]

There we go! Blammed right through that set! Only eleven tracks this time, but a couple of them were pretty damn long! (Silver Apples and Drum Club were about 10 minutes each!) Hopefully, you enjoyed this journey from punk to postpunk to goth-metal to psychedelic synth to hip hop to drum and bass and on to trance…for a full dang ride…

Each of these tracks was played because I enjoy them and for education / appreciation purposes only. If you also enjoyed any of these cuts, feel free to drop a couple of bux buying a digital or physical copy! (I already own them all!!!) Musician have to eat! (Unless they’re no longer with us, in which case, their kids or grandkids might need to eat…) Support folks who make cool stuff!

    Thanks for stopping by!!!
