It's Olive harvesting season, which means I need to clear around my trees before we begin getting the olives off the trees.
The standard method of harvesting is to put down a net around the tree and then rake/ shake the olives off - you can be fairly abrupt with the trees apparently and there's no need to trim all the leaves and small branches off for the oil harvest, which is what we'll be doing next week.
But in order to get the nets down without snagging them (and them only surviving one season) the trees have to be reasonably clear around the bases.
In this video I walk around the land and consider which trees are worth clearing around and which not, some just aren't worth doing because the yield this year is too small, others just have too much shit around them!
I guess this also serves as a November land update, it's looking good as November is a beautiful time of year in East Central Portugal.
