Finding a theme for this occasion was not as complicated as last week, as I found it fascinating to go back to the beginnings of salsa, even before it was given such an emblematic name. I would like to introduce "El que se fue" by Tito Rodriguez. This wonderful song ranks third on the album entitled "Returns To The Palladium", released by United Artists Records back in 1961. With an infectious and enveloping mambo rhythm, it immerses us in a story that today we could identify as a tiradera. In an ingenious and sarcastic way, Tito dedicates this song to his former timbalero, the talented Pat Rodríguez, who surprisingly left the orchestra without fulfilling his commitments. As the lyrics of this song say, "The one who left is not needed, the one who will come is needed". These words contain a powerful life lesson, reminding us that we must focus on the future, on the new opportunities that await us and never give up.

Encontrar un tema para esta ocasión no fue tan complicado como la semana anterior, ya que me pareció fascinante remontarme a los inicios de la salsa, incluso antes de que se le diera ese nombre tan emblemático. Quiero presentarles "El que se fue" de Tito Rodríguez.
