Hive Open Mic 🎤 week 183 || Say Goodbye ~ A cover song by Princessbusayo.

Happy weekend to the Hive Open Mic Community. I missed participating last week and that was due to the sickness I had. I had wanted to share my entry but my body was so weak. Here I am for this week's entry. Thanks to God for the quick recovery.

The theme says "Goodbye" and was chosen by @glowie. I decided to present this inspiring song titled "Say Goodbye" by 'The Afters'. I found the song as a recommended one to listen to on YouTube and since it relates to the theme of the week, I did the cover song.

Say Goodbye is a song with a reminder to let go of the negative past and focus on the present. It encourages us to embrace a new beginning and never let the past hold us down. It's normal to always feel burdened by our past, the mistakes we made, the fear in us and the shame that has been hidden in us for a long time, the good news is that there is always hope as long as we are still breathing and alive.

Just like the first verse of the song says, we should step out of the darkness that has held us down into a new day filled with hope, promise and peace. It continued with the chorus that we should not listen to the lies of the enemy, the fear inside us and the shame we hide but welcome ourselves with a new life as being born again, away from negativity, criticism and shame.

When we look at our past and feel like nothing can ever get better because of how things had turned out for us, there is always hope and we should desist from thinking nothing is possible. It is possible as long as we believe and are optimistic because when we do, there is always light at the end of the tunnel for the one who never gives up.

The lyrics also emphasise the power of love and grace, one can be born again when one embraces a new life filled with hope and love that never ends. When we fully become a child of God, there will be a new beginning because old things have passed away and here come new things in our lives. Let's try our best to sail away from our past mistakes and regret as we leave them behind. The past does not define us but what we do in our present. This is the reason why we need to focus on the 'now.'

A person's true identity is found only in Christ and when we become a child of God and when we can realise it, we come to terms with freedom embedded in the right of a child of God. Leave the past alone and embrace a new life of hope and love.
