Technical note: For this 3short and gameplay I'd been using the GTA 3 (classic), not the definitive edition of GTA 3.

Frosted Winter is a DLC-type (unofficial) mod developed by the well-known GTA community modder known as Pistukas, or Pistukas Mods. This mod expands the story of GTA 3, placing us in the year 2002 (one year after the events of GTA 3) and this time playing as the son and main heir of Salvatore Leone, Joey Leone, in addition to adding a completely new story. This mod also changes Liberty City in many ways, with the main highlight being the new winter environment that completely changes the appearance of the city, immersing it in a cold winter.

Frosted Winter es un mod del tipo DLC (no oficial) desarrollado por el conocido modder de la comunidad GTA conocido como Pistukas, o Pistukas Mods. Este mod se encarga de expandir la historia de GTA 3, ubicándonos en el año 2002 (un año después de los sucesos de GTA 3) e interpretando esta vez al hijo y principal heredero de Salvatore Leone, Joey Leone, además de agregar una historia totalmente nueva, también este mod cambia en muchos aspectos a la ciudad de Liberty City, destacándose principalmente el nuevo ambiente invernal que cambia totalmente la apariencia de la ciudad sumergiéndola en un frío invierno.

3Short-Summary.

And from the Hepburn Heights area, roleplaying as a member of the South American gang LoS Diablos, I begin my introduction to the world of underground racing in Portland, whose specific access point to said underground racing circuit occurs through answering an incoming call at the telephone booth in Hepburn Heights Central Park, yes, that park on the first island of GTA III that is usually frequented by members of the Diablos.

Y desde la zona de Hepburn Heights, realizando el roleo de un miembro de la pandilla sur-americana de LoS Diablos, comienzo mi introducción al mundo de carreras clandestinas de Portland, cuyo lugar específico de acceso a dicho circuito de carreras clandestinas se produce a través de atender una llamada entrante en la gaceta telefónica del parque central de Hepburn Heights, si, ese parque de la primera isla del GTA III que suele ser muy frecuentado por los miembros de los Diablos.

Upon answering the call at the park's phone booth, we are given simple instructions to find a fast car and get to the race starting point, but not before warning me that the race will give a good amount of money to the winner. I immediately looked for the car and set off for the starting line of the race \o/

Al atender la llamada en la gaceta telefónica del parque se nos comienza dando las sencillas indicaciones de buscar un coche rápido y llegar al sitio de partida de la carrera, pero no sin antes avisarme que la carrera repartirá una buena cantidad de dinero al ganador de la misma. Acto seguido, busqué el coche y me dispuse a partir hacia la línea de partida de la carrera \o/

The search for a fast car would not be a problem for me, since I used the emblematic car of the Diablos gang, which is the powerful American muscle car Diablo Stallion and has a powerful V8 that makes me feel like I have a chance against any opponent on the street racing circuit.

La búsqueda del coche rápido no me presentaría ningún problema, puesto que usé el coche emblema de la banda de los Diablos, el cual es el poderoso musculoso americano Diablo Stallion y que cuenta con un poderoso V8 que me hace sentirme con oportunidades ante cualquier rival del circuito de carreras callejeras.

Note: By the way, the model of the Diablo Stallion that I was using in this roleplay is not the default Diablo Stallion from GTA III, but it is a HD model, which retains all the original aesthetics that Rockstar gave to the Stallion, but gives us a higher quality in the details of the car, such as a much more detailed engine among other things, as can be seen in the image above.

Nota: Por cierto, el modelo del Diablo Stallion que estuve utilizando en este roleplay no es el Diablo Stallion por defecto del GTA III, sino que es un modelo en HD, el cual conserva toda la estética original que Rockstar le dio al Stallion, pero que nos brinda una mayor calidad en los detalles del coche, como por ejemplo un motor muchísimo más detallado entre otras cosas, tal cual como se puede apreciar en la imagen superior.

From the cockpit and in first person, I arrived at the starting line of the underground race to find myself with the unpleasant surprise that the other racers were on board tremendous sports cars, to be more specific, these racers were on board: a cheetah, an infernus and a banshee respectively, and for those not very versed in the GTA saga I inform you that these are three of the fastest vehicles in the 3D universe of GTA.

Desde la cabina y en primera persona, llegué a la línea de partida de la carrera clandestina para encontrarme con la desagradable sorpresa de que los otros corredores estaban a bordo de tremendos autos deportivos, para ser más específico, estos corredores estaban a bordo de: un cheetah, un infernus y un banshee respectivamente, y para los no muy versados en la saga GTA les informo que estos son tres de los vehículos más rápidos del universo 3D de GTA.

The race got complicated for me in certain sectors of the route, and this was due to the snow on the streets of the city, which makes driving a far from simple task, and even more so when you have to drive at high speeds since the braking usually responds with too much delay, making the car-player feedback quite slow.

La carrera se me complicó en ciertos sectores del trayecto, y esto se debió a la nieve en los calles de la ciudad, lo cual hace del manejo una tarea nada sencilla, y más cuando tienes que conducir a altas velocidades ya que el frenado suele responder con demasiado retraso, haciendo del feedback auto – jugador algo bastante lerdo.

Note 2: As a technical detail of GTA III, in this Frosted Winter mod, the modder Pistukas altered the original Handling.cfg of the game, in order to alter the handling of the cars and give them a slippery driving feel, that is, a driving where losing control of the car and skidding is very easy, just like when driving on snowy roads :)

Nota 2: Como un detalle técnico de GTA III, en este mod de Frosted Winter, el modder Pistukas alteró el Handling.cfg original del juego, en orden de lograr alterar la conducción de los coches y darles una sensación de conducción resbaladiza, es decir, una conducción donde el perder el control del coche y que esté derrape sea algo muy sencillo, tal cual como ocurre cuando manejamos sobre caminos con nieve :)

Despite the constant drifting, I was able to dominate the car and managed to finish in first place, to later receive 5k $. The A.I. of the game also found it quite complicated to finish the race because of all the drifting effect, which caused them to lose control of the cars without much difficulty. Another thing that played against them was the fact that the low weight of their cars made them more prone to skidding, and the opposite happened with my Diablo Stallion V8, which having more weight in its handling, made it skid less and adhere more strongly to the street.

A pesar de los constantes derrapes, pude dominar el coche y lograr terminar en primer lugar, para posteriormente recibir 5k $. A la A.I del juego también se le hizo bastante complicado terminar la carrera por todo el efecto de derrape, lo que causaba que estos también perdieran el control de los coches sin mucha dificultad. Otra cosa que jugaba en su contra era el hecho del bajo peso de sus autos que los volvía más propensos a derrapar, y todo lo contrario ocurría con mi Diablo Stallion V8, el cual al tener mayor peso en su handling, lo hacía derrapar menos y adherirse más fuertemente a la calle.

Finally, I take the opportunity to show you the powerful V8 that the Diablo Stallion carries under its hood. It should be noted that this model of Diablo Stallion does not come by default in Frosted Winter, but it is a HD mod that I am using that does not change the aesthetics of the original car, but does give it many more details in high definition, giving it a 3D engine, unlike the original cars in the game whose engines were simply represented by a 2D texture.

Por último, aprovecho de mostrarles el poderoso V8 que lleva debajo del cofre el Diablo Stallion. Cabe aclarar que para este modelo de Diablo Stallion no viene por defecto en el Frosted Winter, sino que es un mod en HD que estoy utilizando el cual no cambia la estética del coche original, pero si le da muchos más detalles en alta definición, dándole un motor en 3D, a diferencia de los coches originales del juego cuyos motores estaban representados simplemente por una textura en 2D.
