The trail camera at the animal scratchpost had been capturing the wildlife every night. The spot was frequented by all manner of wild animals, from foxes, through roe deer and red deer all the way to the whole families of wild boars.
But because of its narrow field of view, I moved the camera to a more distant tree and after the move, there was nothing on the memory card. It left me puzzled, but the following night it did capture a family of razorback wild boars (Sus Scrofa), so my worries that something was wrong went away.
However the very next day, upon my return to the scratchpost, I found the camera completely dead. I didn’t suspect the batteries could be dead, because I use the large capacity ones which last on other cameras at least a month and these have been there for barely two weeks, but since I had a spare pair, I swapped the batteries in the camera anyway. Unfortunately, the camera was as dead after the batteries swap as it was before.
Very disappointing turn of events. I dismounted the camera and took it with me home to take a closer look at it. Perhaps I’ll find a way to make it work. I have a degree in electrical engineering, afterall :)
Music for the trail camera footage is my own guitar solo, composed by me and performed live by me before a live audience. There is no studio recording of this instrumental piece of music.
