We had bought the beers beforehand, brought some sweets, and also had a sound system of the kind you usually use when you go on a trip. I should point out that we didn't bring any food, so we had to buy it, so I asked for some prices. One of the guides told me that a fish was fifteen dollars. I told him I would wait for a while, as I wanted to see the beach first, walk around and swim. I ate one later, but I didn't photograph it.

After the conversation and after some of my relatives had changed their clothes, we decided to walk along the beach. The first thing I noticed was the thickness of the sand, it was not similar to other beaches I had visited before. The sand was very relaxing.

Lo primero que pregunté fue la comida y el precio de alquiler de un toldo en donde pudiéramos poner las cosas. Elegí uno lo suficientemente grande, éramos más de 15 personas. Cuando vas a la playa necesitas un lugar en donde poner tus cosas, la ropa, el termo grande o cava donde tienes las cervezas y la comida si llevas. El alquiler del toldo fue de siete dólares estadounidenses.

Las cervezas las habíamos comprado antes, llevamos algunos dulces y también teníamos un equipo de sonido de los que suelen usarse cuando vas de viaje. Debo acotar que no llevamos comida; así que debíamos comprar, por eso fue que pregunté algunos precios. Uno de los guías me dijo que un pescado salía en quince dólares, le dije que esperaría un rato, ya que deseaba primero ver la playa, recorrerla y bañarme. Comí uno después, pero no lo fotografié.

Luego de la conversación y de que se cambiaran de ropa algunos de mis familiares, decidimos recorrer la playa. Lo primero que noté fue el grosor de la arena, no era similar a otras playas que había visitado con anterioridad. La arena era muy relajante.

Another important aspect was the distance between the sand and the waves. The beach, the pirate corner, does not have a plain, but rather the sand has a certain inclination due to the way the waves hit the shore. This particularity left me amazed, although it is difficult to walk along the beach due to this aspect, the waves sometimes hit very hard, and you can fall into the water, or you can be swept away; however, it is still exciting.

Otro aspecto importante fue la distancia entre la arena y las olas. La playa, el rincón del pirata, no posee una planicie, más bien la arena tiene cierta inclinación debido a la forma en que golpean las olas con la costa. Esta particularidad me dejo maravillado, aunque es difícil recorrer la playa debido a este aspecto, las olas en ocasiones golpean muy fuerte y puedes caerte en el agua o te puede arrastrar; sin embargo, no deja de ser emocionante.

Walking along, I found several interesting things, like the peculiar awnings made of coconut palms and wood that contrast in an incredible way with the very nature and atmosphere of the beach. In the middle of this beach, you can see one of the different facets of the beautiful Caribbean Sea that leaves you captivated.

En el medio de esta playa se ve una de las diferentes facetas del hermoso mar caribe que te deja cautivado.

Whenever I go to a place that I don't know or have already visited and haven't documented it enough, I love to see all that it has. Walking around I found an old house in ruins, apparently it used to be a shop, but you could see that it was being consumed by the saline sea.

I photographed this place because it has a relationship, a coastal identity and, above all, it shows a version of what exists here. It is very strange because, on the one hand, you see a natural beauty, but on the other hand, you visualize a worn-out urban profile. Maybe it does relate, but not in the way it should. I say this because of the beautiful view.

Siempre que voy a un lugar que no conozco o que ya he visitado y no le he documentado lo suficiente, me encanta ver todo lo que posee. Caminando encontré una vieja casa en ruinas, al parecer era un local, pero a leguas se veía que estaba siendo consumido por la salina del mar.

Fotografié este lugar porque posee una relación, identidad costera y, sobre todo, muestra una versión de lo que existe acá. Es muy extraño porque, por un lado, ves una belleza natural, pero por el otro visualizas un perfil urbano desgastado. Quizás hace relación, pero no de la manera que debería. Digo esto por la hermosa vista.

On my tour, I came across another site that caught my attention. There was a very striking poster with remarkable words such as: "Parasol Beach, Respect, Peace and Love". I liked the relationship between the colors, it gave a lot of identity to the whole place. In this part of the beach, I noticed that there was a different type of vegetation that was very exotic.

En mi recorrido, encontré otro sitio que me llamó la atención. Había un afiche muy llamativo con palabras notables como: Paraíso Beach, Respeto, Paz y Amor. Me gustó esa relación de los colores, le daba mucha identidad a todo el lugar. En esta parte de la playa noté que había un tipo de vegetación diferente, pero muy exótica.

I wanted to go a little further, but the desire to bathe consumed me. I took advantage of this moment and took several pictures, enjoying the view, the sequence and above all, this iconic place that captivated me.

Quería llegar un poco más lejos, pero las ganas por bañarme me consumieron. Aproveché en este momento y tomé varias fotografías disfrutando la vista, la secuencia y, sobre todo, ese lugar icónico que me cautivó.

When I got back, I finished changing and went for a swim. The water was lovely, but there wasn't much sun. At the beginning of this post, I wrote about the weather on the beach. When we arrived, we were a bit afraid that it would start to rain, but it never did. The relationship between the sea and the environment that day was spectacular, so much so that I didn't need to use sunscreen.

Al regresar me terminé de cambiar y me fui a bañar. El agua estaba riquísima, debido a que no había mucho sol. Al comenzar este post escribí sobre el tiempo climático en la playa. Al llegar nos dio algo de temor que comenzara a llover, pero esto no ocurrió nunca. La relación del mar con el ambiente ese día era espectacular, tanto que no tuve que usar protector solar.

An important aspect is that when I bathed, I noticed that the water on the beach was very clear, it was amazing! In the middle of the beach, there was also a pier where you could see a rock formation and a breathtaking view. The view from this place is enchanting, to the point of making you fall in love.

At this beach, there are boats that take tourists to the islands of Santo Domingo and Long Island. You can also choose to go to the islets called Ratón and El Pipi (the names of these islets are very peculiar).

On the beach, I bought a typical "comes back to life", which is Venezuelan coastal food. To buy it, I paid in dollars in cash, the price was ten dollars, but they let me have it for six dollars. My recommendation is that if you go to this place, take dollars in cash and in low denominations to be able to buy. Nobody has change for notes, and it always makes you want to eat this kind of thing.

Un aspecto importante es que al bañarme percibí que el agua de la playa era muy cristalina, ¡una pasada! En el medio de la playa también estaba un muelle donde se podía ver una formación rocosa y una vista imponente. La vista desde este lugar es encantadora, al punto de dejarte enamorado.

En esta playa hay lanchas que llevan a los turistas a las islas Santo Domingo e Isla Larga. También se puede optar para ir a los islotes llamados Ratón y El Pipi (los nombres de estos islotes son muy peculiares).

En la playa compré un típico “vuelve a la vida”, esto es una comida costera venezolana. Para pagarlo cancelamos en dólares en efectivo, su precio era de diez dólares, pero me lo dejaron en seis dólares. Mi recomendación es que si vas a este sitio lleves dólares en efectivo y en sencillo para poder comprar. Nadie tiene cambio, y siempre te provoca comer este tipo de cosas.

Little by little, it got darker, the day closed and the best thing of all was to experience the light fading away as the waves of the sea hit the coast. A beauty I had not seen for a year. I started the trip back to my city at 7 o'clock at night with a happy face, an incredible peace and a reunion with myself. I really loved this trip.

Poco a poco fue oscureciendo, el día cerró y lo mejor de todo fue vivir cómo la luz se iba mientras las olas del mar golpeaban la costa. Una belleza que tenía un año sin ver. Emprendimos el viaje de regreso a mi ciudad a las 7 de la noche con una cara de felicidad, con una paz increíble y un reencuentro conmigo mismo. Realmente, amé este viaje.
