The energy of the sea, so deep and mysterious both outward and inward. Those who sail may have many stories regarding the sea, or maybe no fantastic tales but some words regarding the imposing nature of the tides and salt water. The sea is so big and mysterious that we don't know much about it, even a little panic, at least to me, it seems to me something incredible to which you have to have a lot of respect. I really admire those people who work in the sea, it is something incredible and even dangerous.

The song I bring today by Jorge Drexler tells us a little about the sea, or rather about a lighthouse, about how that lighthouse gives that guiding light among the darkness and uncertainty of the sea. That feeling that arises within a dark journey in turbulent waters looking for a light to guide us, is something even poetic, it could be related to the path of a human being within himself facing his problems, which would be the turbulent waters and darkness, and the lighthouse would be the conscience and hope, God or whatever you want to call that which can give you a path of clarity, refuge and salvation.

"It's not the light that really matters, it's the twelve seconds of darkness", I believe that in this phrase of the song, Jorge is trying to say that within a process where one lies lost and there are shades of light and darkness, it is not only about looking for the light, but also about appreciating what the moments of darkness can offer us, as teachings and strengths. Those seconds, moments or instants of darkness are necessary for our growth and learning as human beings. Light and darkness will always be there to guide us and teach us the path of evolution.

    Lyrics.

    Rotate the light beam
to be seen from the high seas.
I was looking for the way back
    without wanting to find it.

    Foot behind foot
I went after the pulse of clarity
    the night closed, barely opened,
    it closed again.

A still lighthouse would be nothing
guide, as long as it does not stop turning
it's not the light that really matters
it's the 12 seconds of darkness.

To be seen from the high seas...
It is of little use to the navigator
who does not know how to wait.

    Foot behind foot
there is no other way to walk
    the night of the Cape
    revealed in an immense radar.

A lighthouse stops, only in the daytime,
guide, as long as it doesn't stop turning
it's not the light that really matters
    it is the
    12 seconds of darkness.

    Letra.
