Afritunes week 63: My confidence by Mercy Chinwo, Cover by @mhizerbee

Hello everyone in the Afritunes community. My name is @mhizerbee and I welcome you all to Afritunes week 63. For this week, I will be doing the suggested song by the community titled "My confidence" by Mercy Chinwo.

Mercy Chinwo is an amazing singer and you will agree with me that her songs are top-notch, inspiring, motivating amongst others. This particular song of hers dropped not quite long and it has been a hit everywhere.

I will just go straight to the point to why this song is my inspiration. For some years now my immediate younger brother has been battling and fighting for admission into the university here in Uyo and for some reasons it has been so frustrating and he was so confident that this particular year he will get admission to study music.

I usually look at him and wonder how and why he is so so confident about this particular year. I can remember vividly that the past years his scores to enable him study his dream course was good unlike this year's own and he was just there unapologetically confident... Smiles 😊😁

Well, I guess he knew that God has never disappointed anyone before and with everything that happened, he was still confident and so positive including the words that came out of this mouth on daily basis. And guess what, he had the admission to study his dream course and I am so wowed about everything.

Here I was or would I say here I am having doubts about things I prayed to God for. At some point, I lost hope and did not even pray about those things anymore but when I heard this song for the first time I loovveeed it, oh yeah I loved the song even when I did not know the lyrics of the song.

I saw the title "Confidence" and I listened to it and it was so inspiring. The title alone is enough to lift one's spirit trust me and I was encouraged right from that time. I had always wanted to present the song and for some reasons, I felt so reluctant to do so.

I checked this week's suggested song and good enough it was one of the songs there so I challenged myself and decided to give it a try. I guess it wasn't so bad after all, atleast I tried 🤔🤗🤦

The song is an inspiration to me because it makes me remember who God is. The lyrics were written for me. It inspires me to always have confidence in God no matter what happens, it reminds me that God is always with me all through. It inspires me to put my trust in God always because he is the author and finisher of my faith. It reminds me that I am not alone and that God is always with me.

It reminds me that with God, I am a major personality and not a minor. It reminds me that I am a big girl 😂. It reminds me that God is my shield and buckler and most importantly he is the fairest of ten thousand to my soul. And lastly, it reminds me that everything I need is in God because as the creator of everything, he knows me, my needs etc. All I need do is rely solely on him, trust him and lastly out my confidence in him.
