En una caja de fósforos duerme,un trozo de algodón, él no ronca fuerte, pero respira severamente, como si el aire se escapara de su pulmón blanco corriente.

Cuando se levanta, se despereza con gracia, estira sus brazos, también su cara y mira por fuera de la caja a ver si algo extraño pasa.

Sale de ahí y busca una taza con agua para bañarse allí, entre el líquido nada y nada, hasta que sale emparamado por el agua.
Se acuesta y recibe el sol, se hace bola para secar mejor, tras un buen rato se transforma en un pomo de algodón y se ve mucho mejor.

El algodón empieza a rodar, hasta que se estrella por allá, el impacto hace que pierda su redonda forma y vuelve a quedar como una bola de apariencia graciosa. Aquel algodón despeinado, regresa a la caja de fósforos que siempre la ha albergado, es tiempo de dormir un rato, para mañana, continuar con un baño y volver a ser un pomo de algodón bien formado.

In a matchbox he sleeps, a piece of cotton, he doesn't snore loudly, but he breathes harshly, as if the air is escaping from his ordinary white lung. When he gets up, he wakes up gracefully, stretches his arms, also his face and looks outside the box to see if anything strange is going on.

He gets out of there and looks for a cup with water to take a bath there, between the liquid, nothing and nothing, until he comes out splashed by the water. He lies down and gets the sun, he rolls himself into a ball to dry better, after a while he turns into a knob of absorbent cotton and looks much better.

The cotton starts to roll, until it crashes over there, the impact makes it lose its round shape and it becomes a funny looking ball again. That disheveled cotton returns to the matchbox that has always housed it, it is time to sleep for a while, for tomorrow, continue with a bath and return to be a well-shaped cotton knob.
