Commission from an Antonello da Messina painting

This is a short film about the process of creating a commissioned painting, inspired by an original, old artwork.

I didn't know the artist well beforehand, and was a little nervous to approach such a challenge, but my lovely client and patron allowed my interpretation to be very open... So it became a whole new realm of focus, dedication and perseverance.

The video shows the original artwork 'Portrait Of A Young Man' by Antonello Da Messina, and each stage/ layer of the creative process.

My patron was really happy with the result, and I felt like I'd learned a lot in doing something so far out of my comfort zone!
