[ENG-ESP] 3 individuals playing just 1 violin at the same time - Is that even possible!?

¡Hola, queridos amigos de Hive!

You know sometimes I like to share with you crazy musical experiences, I always tell you that not everything in musicians' lives is about music, we also like to enjoy making challenges or jokes with our instruments, so this time I bring to you another crazy video. Hope you laugh!

Ustedes saben que de vez en cuando me gusta compartir con ustedes experiencias musicales locas, siempre les digo que no todo en la vida de un músico se trata de música, nosotros también disfrutamos hacer retos o bromas con nuestros instrumentos, así que esta vez les traigo otro video loco. ¡Espero que se rían!

This video was recorded when I was around 16, I was checking old stuff and I found it, the other violinists are my friends Carmelo López and Marcelis Zerpa. I have such good memories of that experience, because we still lived away from Caracas (the capital) and we were invited to play Mahler 7th Symphony with a professional orchestra located in Caracas, so we learned a lot those days, the symphony we played is too hard and the members of the orchestra had more experience that us in that moment.

Este video fue grabado cuando yo tenía unos 16 años, estaba revisando cosas viejas y lo encontré, los otros violinistas son mis amigos Carmelo López y Marcelis Zerpa. Tengo muchos bonitos recuerdos de esa experiencia, porque aún vivíamos lejos de Caracas (la capital) y nos invitaron a tocar la 7ma Sinfonía de Mahler con una orquesta profesional ubicada en Caracas, así que aprendimos muchas cosas esos días, la sinfonía que tocamos es muy difícil y los miembros de esa orquesta tenían más experiencia que nosotros en ese momento.

When we have these kind of musical trips we take advantage of our free time to have fun because we use to work hard all day, and it wasn't the exception, we were a group of violinists from Táchira, Mérida and Trujillo (states away from the capital) and we were all staying at the same hotel (the orchestra covered all the expenses, of course) so after rehearsals we used to meet in someone's room or we bathed in the pool since we were tired, we rehearsed ALL DAY, not kidding.

Cuando tenemos este tipo de viajes musicales aprovechamos nuestro tiempo libre porque solemos trabajar muy duro todo el día, y esa no fue la excepción, éramos un grupo de violinistas de Táchira, Mérida y Trujillo (estados lejanos a la capital) y estábamos hospedados todos en el mismo hotel (la orquesta cubría todos los gastos, por supuesto) así que después de los ensayos solíamos reunirnos en la habitación de alguien o bañarnos en la piscina ya que estábamos cansados porque ensayábamos TODO EL DÍA, no les miento.

We did many crazy videos but this is definitely my favorite one. There's a violinist called Ray Chen who is famous not only because he's one of the best in the world but also because he used to make crazy musical video, so he shared a video with two friends playing one violin and we loved it and we wanted to imitate it playing this arrangement from a french song for children.

Hicimos muchos videos locos pero este es definitivamente mi favorito. Hay un violinista llamado Ray Chen quien es famoso no solamente porque es uno de los mejores del mundo, sino porque solía hacer videos musicales locos, así que él había compartido un video con dos amigos tocando un violín y nosotros lo amamos y quisimos imitarlo tocando este arreglo de una canción francesa para niños.

One year later when I moved to Caracas I had the pleasure to meet this incredible violinist in person when he came to Venezuela to play as a soloist.
Un año después cuando me mudé a Caracas tuve el placer de conocer a este increíble violinista en persona cuando vino a Venezuela a tocar de solista.

If you pay attention to the video, I am the one who plays the chords, Marcelis plays pizzicato and Carmelo is playing the melody, we seem pretty uncomfortable because we felt like we didn't have enough space to play hahaha actually it was really fun to find our positions.

Si prestan atención al video, yo soy la que toca los acordes, Marcelis toca el pizzicato y Carmelo está tocando la melodía, nos vemos muy incómodos porque nos sentíamos sin espacio suficiente para tocar jajaja realmente fue muy divertido encontrar nuestras posiciones.
