HIVE OPEN MIC WEEK 152|THEME: TRADITIONAL MUSIC|| MMIRI OZUZO(BEAUTIFUL RAIN)BY CAVE MEN (ACOUSTIC COVER)
Hello lovely people on the Hive open mic community, I welcome you all to this episode of the weekly event for World Peace. As always, it is indeed a great pleasure to participate in this weekly program. This week we have the privilege of celebrating a very interesting team which is traditional music.
Tradition according to my opinion is a set of character trait that shows and preserves the beliefs, and goals of our predecessors. Those who have lived before us. Tradition in some sense can be said to be related to culture, in other words, a way of life which is passed on. It is a phenomenon that can never be errased in our lives because it carries our history. Through it, we can feel what our ancestors lived and felt.
I believe it is our duty to preserve and transmit tradition onto another generation, especially when this tradition is positive and worthwhile. If a tradition has no positive impact on the life of those who practice it, it should be refined.
In the same vein, traditional music gives us the avenue to relieve the joys and experiences of our predecessors and helps us connect to them. From my experience so for, whenever we make a fusion of traditional music with a contemporary one, we get a very magical and unique sound. It appears as though we are having a communication with our history.
In response to the theme of this week, I have decided to present a song from a two man band known as the "Cave Men". This band is famous for rebranding and refining highlife traditional music with recent musical dynamics thereby keeping traditional music alive. The name of this song is Beautiful Rain it is sung one of the native languages in Nigeria known as Igbo. I hope you enjoy it.
