Hello awesome people and music lovers! It is always for me, an opportunity and honour to be here every week with unique themes to interpret uniquely. This week we have a beautiful one from Sekani and it is Opportunity.
This theme speaks to me in very many ways but for the sake of brevity, I will reflect on just a few.

As I was growing up, there is a popular saying which goes "Opportunity comes but once".
Although, this saying may be correct in some context, I personally believe otherwise.

That is "opportunity is not a one time thing". That is to say that opportunity comes many times. In other words, opportunities present themselves many times. If one is observant to the signs of the time then one can sieze many opportunities and be creative with them. On the other hand, I also believe that although opportunities present themselves, we still need to engage them with readiness and eagerness. If we don't learn to pay attention to little details, we may miss several opportunities.

I think the message of this theme is that even when we miss opportunities, there will be other opportunities which will come our way and we need to be ready.

Reflecting on the theme of opportunity, my mind went to the statement of Christina Perri in his song " I will never let anything take away what's standing before me".
This statement for me, is about not waiting until opportunity knocks on the door, but instead to decisively take it up.

Therefore, I will sing a song by Christina Perri, "A thousand years" in response to the theme of the week.
