I was lucky.
Grew up on a farm, where I was able to explore, play, build, and do pretty much anything that I wanted to do.
As a young, inquisitive kid, I learned how to make bows, slingshots, catapults, fishing rods - I was a regular Huck Finn, I was ! lol
I’m so glad now, that I learned these skills years ago - even though I’ve only ever had to put them to any kind of practical use a couple of times (since growing up).
Personally, I think these are the kind of basic skills that everyone needs to know – and in the world that we live in today, a world that’s increasingly chaotic – you never know when learning these basic survival skills might, quite literally, save your life.
Don’t live in fear, learn.
Become more confident in your own abilities to be able to survive without the modern day luxuries that most people currently take for granted.
Hopefully, you’ll never have to apply them in a real life situation – but just knowing these skills will make you happier, more relaxed, and give you a lot more confidence in yourself generally.
Welcome to the jungle...
That’s not new - it’s where we’ve always been one way or another, it’s just been hidden under the veneer of safety.
That safety net well may be taken away at any time….
Enjoy your independence, don’t be scared of it!
...and the hours that you’ll need to apply yourself to becoming ‘good’ with your newly acquired tools - is so much fun!
