Good day friends and family of Hive Openmic and welcome to my entry for Hive Open Mic Week#112 with the theme "Local Tradition".

I am overwhelmed with Joy to bring in my second entry in this community today, I want to use this medium to appreciate you all for the massive love and welcoming me into this community. I made my introductory post just yesterday and I stated where I am from in my Introductory Post, I am a Nigerian and live in the North Central Part of the Country in Nasarawa state. Nigeria as a country contains allot of traditions, ethnic groups and believes and how they operate their activities. Out of the good numbers of this traditions and ethnic groups I belong to The Eggon tribe and Nasarawa state contains alot of the Eggon's in Nigeria, infact that is where the Eggons settle. This morning I will be bringing you a song from my Tribe and the title of the song is Oyeme Yesu Oyeme which in English means Teach me Oh Lord Teach me. I sang the song above in my Dialect but I will try to translate the song lyrics to English language below. You know unlike other countries that speaks only a language and maybe the English language, you will find alot of different languages in my country Nigeria.

In my perspective this lifestyle of a lot of different languages and ethnicities also contribute to some of the problems we are facing in the country because people are showing a lot of language differences and making things difficult for the poor man. You will find out someone in a capacity to help a set of individuals, will want to help specifically the people from His or her tribe because he or she feels they speak the same language and it makes them brothers and sisters and deserve to be favored by them most. The big question is what about the other languages, aren't they brothers and sisters? And this habit is mostly found in people that are found in diverse positions to help the less privilege that are fun of doing that.
I don't really know if those countrys that speaks only a language face this kind of problems I guess maybe yes but in a different way not like this.
In my ethnic group (The Eggons) a lot of people are afraid to marry from my Tribe considering the traditional rights you have to perform before marrying from my Tribe. You will provide fifteen heavy basins of cooked big beans mixed with black beni-seed which causes alot of money and that's not all as there are several more items you will provide which the challenge of time and space won't allow me list them all here.
I hope I was able to share some light with you about my Tribe with some of my traditional believes.
