Life in the Boondocks After the Rain

It's a wonderful Wednesday, as the sun showed up from morning until late afternoon, though it rained almost continuously last night, which gave me enough time to walk outdoors to hear and witness the bustling life that thrives in the mountain. The sound of cicadas and crickets can be heard from all over the hill, and the birds seem to be rejoicing on the treetops with their melodic chirping. Butterflies and bees can also be seen flying over the vegetation in search of wild flowers that provide nectar for their nourishment, and yes, there are also other insects that can be seen but are not shown in the video, like grasshoppers, catydids, praying mantises, dragonflies, and robber flies, to name a few, as well as pesky mosquitoes that are buzzing everywhere, making it advisable for a mountain dweller like me to always bring an insect repellent lotion. Most of the trees now are covered with their lush green leaves, like the towering banyan tree, and some species of trees are blooming, which adorn the landscape with their lovely flowers. The mountain also now offers its bounty for humans to consume as bamboo shoots, wild bitter gourds, and Tonkin jasmine are already have their edible flowers,are now growing on the forest floor that is nourished by the rain, and if you're lucky enough, there are also edible mushrooms concealed under the vegetation, of which I tried to look for some but I haven't found anything. This might be because the soil is still too wet for these mushrooms to grow, so I ended up getting some bamboo shoots, which my wife made into fritters and salad.
Upon seeing that the clouds were turning gray, I immediately walked downhill to go home, as I might be caught by a thunderstorm.
