Hello Music Lovers on Hive, this is my entry for Hive Open Mic week 113. The theme of this week is "Infantil" which means "Childlike" or Infantile in English.
The theme of Childlike or Infantile brings up the idea of childhood innocence, dependency and genuine happiness. Looking back at my childhood days, I cannot but smile or make a wide grin 😁
This week's Theme is an interesting one. It brought up some childhood memories in me, ranging from:
The songs we sang
Movies and television shows we watched: Tales by Moon light, Fuji House of Commotion,
Mexican Sop-operas we watched: Passion, When you are Mine (Paloma & Diego), One Chance and Gardener's Daughter.
The Games we played: Police and thief 😅, Mummy and Daddy 🤣, Suwe... and many others.
Honestly, if we had known that our childhood days would be really missed, I'm sure many of us would have utilised the moment so well.
Instead, we were thinking of how we would become an adult, so that we would have our own cars, houses, wive/husband, children and how we would turn to big men. We thought being an adult would be the "bestest" thing we would ever imagine.
Now as adults, we wished we had spent more time enjoying our childhood, because these adulthood responsibilities ....emmmm is really difficult and we all know what we are passing through individually and collectively 😪😪😪
Well, let me not digress!
For this piece i played 3 different childhood songs that I believe we all know. I chose some common/general songs that aren't only known in my local area, but it is cross-cultural.
I sang the songs:
Wait ooo, did I just say "SANG"? 😅😅😅
SORRY OOOO!
I can't sing, so instead I played them on my guitar in a unique way, making all three songs flow accordingly.
I hope you enjoy this piece
Mary had a little lamb,
Little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went,
The lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day,
School one day, school one day,
It followed her to school one day,
That was against the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
Laugh and play, laugh and play,
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school.
And so the teacher turned it out,
Turned it out, turned it out,
And so the teacher turned it out,
But still it lingered near...
And waited patiently about,
Patiently about, patiently about,
And waited patiently about,
Till Mary did appear.
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?
Mary so? Mary so?
Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
The eager children cry.
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know,
The lamb, you know, the lamb, you know!
Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."
The teacher did reply.
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream
London Bridge is falling down
Falling down, falling down
London Bridge is falling down
My fair lady
Build it up with iron bars
Iron bars, iron bars
Build it up with iron bars
My fair lady
Iron bars will bend and break
Bend and break, bend and break
Iron bars will bend and break
My fair lady
Build it up with gold and silver
Gold and silver, gold and silver
Build it up with gold and silver
My fair lady
London Bridge is falling down
Falling down, falling down
London Bridge is falling down
