Amor eterno es una canción que por primera vez la escuché a la gran cantante Rocío Dúrcal. Fue compuesta por el gran cantautor mexicano Alberto Aguilera Valadez, conocido artísticamente como Juan Gabriel.

Amor eterno is a song that I first heard from the great singer Rocío Dúrcal. It was composed by the great Mexican singer-songwriter Alberto Aguilera Valadez, artistically known as Juan Gabriel.

Juan Gabriel afirma qué la compuso en honor a su señora madre, después de haberse enterado de su lamentable fallecimiento.
Otras fuentes no oficiales afirma que en realidad se la compuso a un amor, en este caso un hombre con quién sostuvo un fuerte romance, y falleció trágicamente en Acapulco.

Juan Gabriel affirms that he composed it in honor of his mother, after learning of her unfortunate death.
Other unofficial sources affirm that he actually composed it to a love, in this case a man with whom he had a strong romance, and who died tragically in Acapulco.

Es una canción que puede ser dedicada a un ser querido que ya falleció, en ese caso a una madre, un amigo, u otra persona la cual extrañamos mucho.

Cuando la estaba cantando y grabando el video, tenía en mi mente a un gran amigo que murió hace dos años.

También recordaba a un tío que lamentablemente murió de un cáncer muy agresivo.

Hoy tomé esta canción como si fuera mía, y allí pude expresar el sentimiento de soledad, de vacío que pueden dejar una persona amada cuándo muere.

A continuación dejó la versión de Rocío Dúrcal, quién llevó con su hermosura de voz a la fama, amor eterno.

It is a song that can be dedicated to a loved one who has passed away, in that case to a mother, a friend, or another person we miss very much.

When I was singing it and recording the video, I had in my mind a great friend who died two years ago.

I also remembered an uncle who sadly died of a very aggressive cancer.

Today I took this song as if it were my own, and there I could express the feeling of loneliness, of emptiness that can leave a loved one when they die.
