Jamming Zone week 02 | Instrumental parts of my "Kwela" Original Song "Factory Town"! [Eng-Esp]

Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Zone Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you Cape Town in South Africa (I’m home)! Welcome to Week 2 of the Jamming Zone, a brand-new initiative by @juliopalomo!

In this initiative, we are supposed to be jamming and improvising (are you contributing @sunsethunter? This is your bread-and-butter!).

Last week, I demonstrated some of the instrumental parts of my original blues song “Shotgun Wedding”. I figured I have one other original song that has an interesting set of instrumental/solo parts. It is called “Factory Town”, and some of its guitar style is inspired by a traditional style of music we have here in South Africa called “Kwela”!

As for the lyrics of the song – as well as being inspired by my literal time working in an ugly Factory Town, I have realised that the song is also a metaphor for trying to live a life of Freedom, rather than being stuck and living in fear!

Hola a todos en HIVE, y especialmente a la comunidad Music Zone. Mi nombre es Jasper y te escribo (y canto) en Ciudad del Cabo, Sudáfrica (¡estoy en casa)! ¡Bienvenidos a la Semana 2 de Jamming Zone, una nueva iniciativa de @juliopalomo!

En esta iniciativa, se supone que debemos tocar e improvisar (¿estás contribuyendo con @sunsethunter? ¡Este es su pan de cada día!).

La semana pasada, mostré algunas de las partes instrumentales de mi canción de blues original “Shotgun Wedding”. Pensé que tenía otra canción original que tiene un conjunto interesante de partes instrumentales/solistas. Se llama “Factory Town” y parte de su estilo de guitarra está inspirado en un estilo de música tradicional que tenemos aquí en Sudáfrica llamado “Kwela”.

En cuanto a la letra de la canción, además de estar inspirada en mi tiempo literal trabajando en una fea Factory Town, me he dado cuenta de que la canción también es una metáfora de tratar de vivir una vida de Libertad, en lugar de estar estancado y vivir en ¡miedo!
