Una Orquesta de Instrumentos Tradicionales Venezolanos.

Saludos a la comunidad de #music, en ésta oportunidad les vengo nuevamente a traer otra experiencia con la Orquesta donde trabajo actualmente y donde conocí a @sebas.mandolin ! De ahí que le digo Hermano y Colega.

Lo he comentado en publicaciones pasadas, y es que éste formato de Orquestas es extraño incluso en Venezuela, ya que está conformado únicamente de instrumentos tradicionales Venezolanos (Arpa, Mandolina, Bandola llanera, Mandola, Cuatro, Contrabajo, Maracas y Guitarra).

El trabajo musical que se hace aquí de acuerdo con la instrumentación es muy distinto al de una Orquesta Sinfónica o Filarmónica, es un trabajo de Música de Cámara combinado por supuesto con la estética la música Venezolana, llega a ser incluso un universo sonoro complejo hasta para nosotros, los Venezolanos.

Por ejemplo, a pesar de que la Bandola llanera y la Mandolina son instrumentos que tienen la misma afinación la mayoría del tiempo, la manera de tocar la bandola no es igual que la de una mandolina, ¡son técnicas totalmente diferentes!

El Arpa es un instrumento bastante difícil tanto para tocar como para leer partituras, la complejidad de éste instrumento es enorme y es un reto no solo el hecho de tocar o leer una partitura, sino que escribir música para el Arpa llanera es otro desafío enorme.

Las Maracas y el Cuatro son el esqueleto rítmico de la Orquesta, ellos deben estar sumamente engranados para mantener una estabilidad en el tempo.

En fin, es un universo complejo pero lleno de posibilidades sonoras y musicales.

An Orchestra of Traditional Venezuelan Instruments.

Greetings to the #music community, in this opportunity I come again to bring you another experience with the Orchestra where I currently work and where I met @sebas.mandolin ! Hence I call him Brother and Colleague.

I have commented in past publications, and is that this format of Orchestras is strange even in Venezuela, as it is made up only of traditional Venezuelan instruments (Harp, Mandolin, Bandola llanera, Mandola, Cuatro, Double Bass, Maracas and Guitar).

The musical work that is done here according to the instrumentation is very different from that of a Symphony Orchestra or Philharmonic, it is a work of Chamber Music combined of course with the aesthetics of Venezuelan music, it even becomes a complex sound universe even for us, Venezuelans.

For example, although the Bandola llanera and the Mandolina are instruments that have the same tuning most of the time, the way of playing the bandola is not the same as playing a mandolin, they are totally different techniques!

The Harp is a very difficult instrument both to play and to read sheet music, the complexity of this instrument is enormous and it is a challenge not only to play or read sheet music, but writing music for the llanera harp is another huge challenge.

The Maracas and the Cuatro are the rhythmic skeleton of the Orchestra, they must be highly meshed to maintain a stable tempo.

In short, it is a complex universe but full of sonorous and musical possibilities.

Tocar y Luchar - Defender nuestra identidad nacional y nuestra tradición musical.

No solamente tocamos música venezolana por placer, sino porque amamos y defendemos nuestras raíces como Venezolanos, cosa que parece sencilla pero no lo es.

Existen muchas dificultades para ser músicos en Venezuela, entre ésas, una de las más difíciles para mí es como me percibe la sociedad en muchas ocasiones.

Hay personas que piensan que nosotros somos unos hippies y que nos las pasamos todo el día debajo de un arbol tocando cuatro o guitarra (cosa que hacerla de vez en cuando no es mala idea), pero la realidad es que trabajamos mucho, no solamente ensayamos sino también impartimos clases de música dentro del Sistema de Orquestas, la labor docente dentro de la música es otra disciplina que no es nada fácil de realizar.

Pero a pesar de todas las dificultades que se nos presentan en el camino, la música nos da una razón para vivir y nos causa un enorme orgullo el defenderla y tocarla lo mejor posible.

Play and Fight - Defending our national identity and our musical tradition.

We not only play Venezuelan music for pleasure, but because we love and defend our roots as Venezuelans, something that seems simple but is not.

There are many difficulties to be musicians in Venezuela, among those, one of the most difficult for me is how society perceives me in many occasions.

There are people who think that we are hippies and that we spend all day under a tree playing cuatro or guitar (which to do from time to time is not a bad idea), but the reality is that we work a lot, not only rehearse but also teach music classes within the Orchestra System, teaching music is another discipline that is not easy to do.

But in spite of all the difficulties that come our way, music gives us a reason to live and it gives us great pride to defend it and play it the best we can.

Mis compañeros de Orquestas - Una Familia Musical

Una de las cosas positivas que tiene ésta agrupación es la hermandad que se vive entre nosotros, siempre estamos en contacto los unos con los otros y nos relacionamos muy bien.

Sin embargo, como en toda familia hay situaciones donde se presentan problemas, discusiones o momentos tensos entre sus integrantes, pero todo se resuelve hablando y escuchando el punto de vista de los demás.

Luchamos no solo contra factores externos sino también internos, batallando para mantener la unión familiar que hace que la Orquesta se mantenga en pie.

My Fellow Orchestras - A Musical Family

One of the positive things about this group is the brotherhood that exists among us, we are always in contact with each other and we relate very well.

However, as in any family, there are situations where problems, arguments or tense moments arise among its members, but everything is solved by talking and listening to each other's point of view.

We fight not only against external factors but also internal ones, battling to maintain the family union that keeps the Orchestra on its feet.
