Haldi event at Pakistani weddings

Hope this blog finds you in the best of you.
It is believed that people who does not belong to Pakistan or India seems having interest in their wedding due to the diverse rituals performed in their weddings.So finds Pakistani weddings appealing ,the blog is for you chum. Because today i am going to pen my recently attended wedding event known as "HALDI" (Turmeric).

Weddings in Pakistan are so diverse because people have to follow their traditions and factor of personal preference is dominant of all.People do whatever they like .There is an often spoken statement related to marriage that "Marriage comes obce in life".So people do their best to make it memorable for them and enjoy at their fullest.
Now heading towards blog, i'll show you the decorations ,dressing,bride, props and events in ceromony.

Decorations

There are colourfull curtains used for background which has a symbolic importance.Actually unlike white wedding or themed weddings ,we people prefer wearing different colours because they symbolizes prosperity,positivity,new beginning,wealth,purity and so on for the newly weds.Its like wishing them good luck and happiness for their upcoming life.And a small arrangement is also done for people to sit in a very traditional way on the floor.

Props

There you see a small drum known as "Dholki" in our language.Some kind of rythm is played with it then songs are sung together.
And the other you see are known as "Haldi plates or platter".In this candles are lit and turmeric mixture is placed in it.These props too are part of decorations.

Bride

Brides are dressed as yellow.This colour choice is somehow arbitrary and somehow personal preference of people.Turmeri itself is yellow coloured so some wear yellow because of it.But u know yellow colour is known for purity and properity thats why brides are dressed in yellow.Its all about making a new start with hope of more prosperity and more smiles by wearing colours that gives off those vibes.As u can see the bride is wearing flower jewellry because it's a tradition.The "Gajras" she is wearing on her hands stole most of the affection.The flowers on her represents beauty and grace thats why flower jewellry is preferred.

Others attire

These photos are mine with my cousins and sisters.As you can see we are wearing vibrant colours which seems refreshing to eyes and perfect for weddings.

Events in Haldi ceremony

In this, we apply turmeric paste on the feet, hands, and face of the bride, either wherever considered appropriate or where the bride feels comfortable. The purpose of this is to give the bride a radiant and glowing appearance on her wedding day.You can see the turmeric bowl placed in front and her sisters are applying turmeric paste.Everyone takes turns applying turmeric paste to the bride.Actually this event belongs to female only but some invites men too based on one's own will.But in our event only females are invited.

Next wedding songs are sung by older ones with rythm of dholak.Traditional songs as well as old Punjabi folk songs are sung. The purpose of these songs is to wish the bride good luck.These songs contain theme of love,family and happiness.

3speak

Next comes the traditional dance called as LUDDi.Cousins,sisters,sister-in-Laws ,Aunts all participate in this activity.They make a circle around bride and perform some steps,circulating around her.

Food🥂

Sorry guys, i forget to take photos of food except gol gappas. You know food holds such an important place in life of punjabis that whenever food is around them other things are blur for us.So ot's not my fault ,it's the fault, being punjabi that i couldn't take photos.

But i have photos of cake being cut by bride.An believe me this icecream cake tastes so damn good,i couldn't put it into words.
