HIVE OPEN MIC WEEK 131 || GREEN LAND BY TY BELLO (COVER)

Hello everyone, it's Hive open mic week 131 with the theme Patriotic pride. I will be doing a cover of a Nigerian song by Ty Bello titled GREEN LAND which I will refer to as COUNTRY. I saw that so many of my amazing Nigerian brethren had sang the Nigeria National anthem so I had to go a little hard on myself by learning a new song, it was not easy at all but I did try my best to sing it well. At first when I saw the lyrics of the song I was not sure how I was going to cope with learning the song but then I still had to try. Since I saw my entry will not be valid because it's already a new week, I almost gave up but you know, I do not like giving up that easily and even the song was motivating me to not let my efforts go to waste and that's how you found yourself here, lolz, please I sincerely apologize 🙏.

This song has a very deep meaning but looking at it from the surface it looks like something without a really beautiful meaning but do not worry, I will give you an idea of why I know this song fits the theme. Here in Nigeria, we are known for our green lands but that was not really what the song writer was referring to. She was referring to Nigeria, the country, even as we all come from different countries one thing is certain, we all have a part to play in making our country (Green Land) a better place. The song writer made us to understand that this Green land is for us and whatever we do, whether good or bad we will reap it a hundred fold. So as a good patriot to your country, it's always right that we sow a good seed in our green land (our country). It's for you and I so we have to make it a place that will bring joy to us and not pain.

Hola a todos, es la semana 131 de micrófono abierto de Hive con el tema Orgullo patriótico. Haré una versión de una canción nigeriana de Ty Bello titulada GREEN LAND a la que me referiré como COUNTRY. Vi que muchos de mis increíbles hermanos nigerianos habían cantado el himno nacional de Nigeria, así que tuve que esforzarme un poco para aprender una nueva canción, no fue nada fácil, pero hice todo lo posible para cantarla bien. Al principio, cuando vi la letra de la canción, no estaba seguro de cómo iba a hacer frente al aprendizaje de la canción, pero aún tenía que intentarlo. Desde que vi mi entrada no va a ser valida porque ya es una nueva semana, casi me rindo pero ya saben, no me gusta rendirme tan facil y hasta la cancion me estaba motivando a no dejar que mis esfuerzos se desperdiciaran y asi fue te encontraste aquí, lolz, por favor, me disculpo sinceramente 🙏.

Esta canción tiene un significado muy profundo pero mirándola desde la superficie parece algo sin un significado realmente hermoso pero no te preocupes, te daré una idea de por qué sé que esta canción encaja con el tema. Aquí en Nigeria, somos conocidos por nuestras tierras verdes, pero eso no era realmente a lo que se refería el autor de la canción. Se refería a Nigeria, el país, aunque todos venimos de diferentes países, una cosa es cierta, todos tenemos un papel que desempeñar para hacer de nuestro país (Tierra Verde) un lugar mejor. El autor de la canción nos hizo entender que esta tierra verde es para nosotros y que hagamos lo que hagamos, sea bueno o malo, lo cosecharemos al cien por cien. Entonces, como buen patriota de su país, siempre es correcto que sembremos una buena semilla en nuestra tierra verde (nuestro país). Es para ti y para mí, así que tenemos que convertirlo en un lugar que nos traiga alegría y no dolor.
