    Greetings from North-West, South Africa!

This week, I visited the Nature's Rest Hotel Hiking trail. The trail itself -except for being tough on the legs to to having to hike uphill for most of it- wasn't very challenging. This does not however mean that it was boring, as it had a lot of great views and tons of opportunities for me to practice using the Macro setting on my camera. (Definitely one of my favourites now.)

The trail (more like a path) was completely paved, which is something I am not used to on a hike.

The views here were truly spectacular, perfect for experimenting with the more interesting settings of the camera.

As usual, I walked alone, lagging far behind the rest of the group due to constantly stopping to try and get a good shot. Lately I find myself greatly enjoying and appreciating these quiet moments of solitude...

Except for the views on one side and interesting plants and flowers on the other side of the path, the trail part would be pretty boring to walk. (If you couldn't be bothered to look around.)

So up and up I went, enjoying the view and stopping often. It was a nice warm morning, quite perfect for it!

There were even some interesting insects out and about. The level of patience needed for getting good photos of these guys actually surprised me quite a bit.

Enjoying the relaxed walk and nice scenery, I kept going up, even though my legs were starting to hurt now...

The higher you go, the more beautiful the scene becomes...

At the top of the trail, we found a lookout point with a few benches. I ran around taking more photos while the rest of the group had a few snacks. This would be quite a nice spot for a romantic picnic lunch, if you ask me.

Once everyone was ready, we started heading back...I soon found more things to distract myself with...

Back at the hotel entrance, I took an opportunity to snap one last photo...right before my camera's battery died...

Well that's it, thanks for walking with me!
    Till next time!
