Sketchbook 011 - Repainting an Old Canvas (Again)

Hello to everyone out there!

Lately I have been falling into a loose pattern with my artistic practices and pursuits. I tend to work on the big tarot card project, which at this stage is up to about three options for box cover art, and still very much in concept.
After that I usually need a less stressful drawing to refresh my mind, something free flowing without much planning involved.
Somehow, lately, whenever I upload the project art, it coincides with my friends sharing photos that send me into full on inspired drawing mode again. This one was one was based off of one of those photos.
(Not certain if I should note the source of the original photo, as I am not including it in here)

I did not have any canvas available...so, for the third and hopefully last time, I reused an old canvas I had laying around in storage.

Making a timelapse video seemed like more fun than just including process photos. I really like doing it this way because making these videos helps me examine the techniques I am attempting to learn once done.

....I just tried to get a rough sketch going on the canvas, hoping it would look okay, because I had never tried drawing onto canvas from a photo before. Luckily it is mostly just a silhouette, which makes it a little bit easier.

Done! I couldn't get great photos, no matter how hard I tried. I might touch up the light effect on the background in the future, once I can teach myself how to do it properly. All in all, this was a lot of fun and I learnt many things while creating it.
