Beautiful morning everyone,

I'm so happy to welcome you to hive open mic week 164. The theme for this week is "Hopeful"and I want to send a special shoutout to this week Spotlight Artist @jmis101 for choosing such an amazing theme. Today I will be doing a cover of the song "The Call" by Regina Spektor.

The song was sang towards the ending of the legendary movie "The Chronicles of Narnia". I watched this movie when I was in secondary school and till date, it still rank as one of my favorite movies ever. In this movie, four kids find a magical wardrobe in the house of their new guardian while playing hide and seek. This wardrobe then lead them to a magical world where they experience lots of amazing adventures and made lot of magical creatures friends.

At the end of the movie, they had to leave and it was a bittersweet experience for them because they've really create amazing memories there. That was when the song started playing in the background. I must say, the lyrics was super perfect for that scene. The song gives them hope that even though they were leaving, there is possibility of them coming back whenever they are needed there and so they shouldn't feel sad. Its such a comforting amd hopeful song which fits that particular scene in the movie.

When I saw the theme, I had a different song on mind and then I realized lots of people have done cover of this particular song. As I was thinking on which one to go for, my music library suddenly play this song. Hearing the lyrics made me realise immediately that it fit the theme for this week perfectly.

The song is such a beautiful one and I do hope you enjoy this cover of mine. The song was accompanied with an instrumental which I generated here.

Hermosa mañana para todos,

Estoy muy feliz de darle la bienvenida a la semana 164 de micrófono abierto de Hive. El tema de esta semana es "Hopeful" y quiero enviar un agradecimiento especial al artista destacado de esta semana @jmis101 por elegir un tema tan increíble. Hoy estaré haciendo un cover de la canción "The Call" de Regina Spektor.

La canción fue cantada hacia el final de la legendaria película "Las crónicas de Narnia". Vi esta película cuando estaba en la escuela secundaria y hasta la fecha, sigue siendo una de mis películas favoritas. En esta película, cuatro niños encuentran un guardarropa mágico en la casa de su nuevo guardián mientras juegan al escondite. Este guardarropa los lleva a un mundo mágico donde experimentan muchas aventuras increíbles y se hacen amigos de muchas criaturas mágicas.

Al final de la película, tuvieron que irse y fue una experiencia agridulce para ellos porque realmente crearon recuerdos increíbles allí. Fue entonces cuando la canción comenzó a sonar de fondo. Debo decir que la letra era súper perfecta para esa escena. La canción les da la esperanza de que a pesar de que se iban, existe la posibilidad de que regresen cuando los necesiten allí y así no deberían sentirse tristes. Es una canción tan reconfortante y esperanzadora que se adapta a esa escena particular de la película.

Cuando vi el tema, tenía en mente una canción diferente y luego me di cuenta de que mucha gente había hecho versiones de esta canción en particular. Mientras pensaba cuál elegir, mi biblioteca de música de repente reprodujo esta canción. Escuchar la letra me hizo darme cuenta inmediatamente de que encajaba perfectamente con el tema de esta semana.

La canción es tan hermosa y espero que disfruten esta versión mía. La canción estuvo acompañada de un instrumental que generé aquí.
