Oriente es otro color

Oriente es la tierra donde amanece más temprano,
y a las seis ya los paisanos se regresan de la mar.
Alegre pues el peñero viene cargado de peces
y un pájaro hace las veces de guardador nacional.

Y es que en oriente mi hermano la mar tiene otro color,
y el amarillo del sol es un poco azafranado,
el aire es menos pesado y la luna es una flor
que perfuma con amor a quien está enamorado.
Por eso a oriente cuña'o lo llevo en mi corazón.

En la playa las mujeres buenas mozas y sonrientes
hacen monerías decentes por rebajar el pagar,
un jurel, dos corocoros y una hermosa catalana,
comienza así la mañana, bajo un cielo singular.

The East is the land where the sun rises earlier,
