Cloud Hunting Experience in Mang Den

Located at an altitude of about 1200m above sea level and covered by forests and mountains, Mang Den is an ideal place to "hunt clouds" in the early morning. However, you cannot always hunt clouds in Mang Den. In this video, I would like to share some experiences of hunting clouds in this beautiful land.

First, the season when you have a high chance of successfully hunting clouds in Mang Den is from February to September. However, there are still days outside of that time when you can still do it. Whether you can hunt clouds or not depends a lot on whether there is a beautiful sunrise that morning. A rule of thumb is that if it rains the previous afternoon and it is sunny early the next morning, there will definitely be a beautiful "sea of clouds".

The best time for you to hunt clouds in Mang Den is 5:30 am in the cold season and 5:00 am in the warm season, right before the sun is about to rise. And in my opinion, the most beautiful moment is when the sun just rises from the horizon. We can admire the entire process of sunrise on the "sea of clouds". Therefore, to successfully hunt clouds, you should try to wake up early to be at the cloud hunting spot before dawn.

Regarding cloud hunting spots, there are currently many beautiful ones in Mang Den. The closest and most convenient location is Our Lady of Mang Den Hill. Located right in Mang Den town, it only takes about 5 to 10 minutes to travel from the town center. Also located within the town, cafes and homestays on Vo Nguyen Giap and Y Bom streets such as Xanh Yen Cafe, T'Rung homestay or Chan May Homestay & Cafe are also nearby cloud hunting spots. A little further, Mang Den Cemetery Hill is a prime cloud hunting spot. Located about 4.5km from the town center, you should get up a little earlier to be able to hunt clouds at this location. This cloud hunting location may sound a bit scary, but it is a beautiful cloud hunting location, located on a high spot, where we have a panoramic view of the town and the surrounding mountains. Next, Mang Den Pass is also a beautiful cloud hunting location with a view of the vast valley and Dak Rve town below. And finally, 37 Household Area is a large area with many beautiful cloud hunting spots.
