After spending time apart social distancing, and witnessing the devastation caused by the covid-19 crisis, many may also just miss simple social interactions, whether it's going for a cup of coffee, going to the gym, enjoying a meal with family and friends, or traveling... we are all eager to have back our life routines...
Out of many things we used to do like many, I miss traveling and hosting local community workshops was it for music or blockchain-related they both share the same gems for me traveling, meeting new people, experiencing different cultures and sharing the knowledge.
With that said here's a small video recap of one of my trips back home in Beirut where we organized a local community workshop an intensive day that covers various turntable techniques and scratching foundations. The workshop was hosted by myself and DJ One Up from France who has a long history with soul, funk & hip hop music, and the founder of the association From Scratch - a cultural and educational project around the practice of DJing.
The event was hosted at 'STATION' an independent artist-run platform dedicated to bold cultural experiences that spark the social imagination towards progressive change.
Based in France, DJ One Up has a long history with soul, funk & hip hop music. Spinning on the radio, recording projects, and playing at events around the world, he's known for a rare and original sound. He has opened for the likes of Grand Master Flash, Deenasty and Assassin.
