Preparations Before the Meeting:
Davao DeFi Community @davaodeficoms Founder Rubz Comms initiated the meeting and called upon Chris Rice @chrisrice for the important talks to materialize on August 11, 2023.
Chris Rice researched ahead of time about the possibility of helping a school community in Davao City with school supply needs and, at the same time, offering these students to learn more about the technology called Web3.
Meeting the Principal and Her Staff:
We were scheduled to meet at around four o'clock in the afternoon, and we arrived at the venue 10 minutes earlier than scheduled. We were immediately introduced by Rubz Comms to the principal, Ma'am Emy B. Goc-ong, EdD, and Principal III of Jesus J. Soriano National High School in Barangay Catalunan Grande, Davao City.
Aside from the school principal, present also during the meeting were Mr. Tranquilino E. Velasco Jr., Officer-In-Charge of Junior High School Level, and Jenalyn A. Molina, school coordinator of Adopt-A-School Coordinator, and Davao DeFi Community Founder Rubz Comms.

After the short introductions of all the attendees during the meeting, Chris Rice introduced himself as the representative of the community of developers, bloggers, and content creators using a technology called Web3.
The DBuzz founder first asked the principal if the conversations could be documented through photos and taking down some notes of the meeting. The school principal Ma'am Goc-Ong agreed and was even grateful for the opportunity of having somebody interested in their program as they were mandated by the Philippine Department of Education to collaborate with various communities in helping the needs of their students not only in terms of education but also in terms of their school supply needs.

Ma'am Goc-Ong was so grateful upon hearing about the possibility of being given the opportunity to collaborate in various efforts to further the education of their students, especially in terms of technological advancements in the field of information technology.
According to the Principal of Jesus J. Soriano National High School, they have a program called Adopt-A-School initiative and introduced once again the coordinator of the said program, Ma'am Jenaly A. Molina, who responded positively with the idea of being given a chance to be one of the beneficiaries of any assistance from the Hive community.
Chris Rice, on his part as the representative of Hive, asked for some important data from the school principal, which they provided by giving rough estimates of the number of students in the said school. According to the principal, there were around 3,000 students enrolled at Jesus J. Soriano National High School, and most of these students come from families that live in a family earning below the poverty line or earning less than a dollar a day.

According to Mr. Tranquilino E. Velasco Jr., Officer-In-Charge of the school and the coordinator of the school's IT Department in Junior High School, the students really need support regarding school supplies, especially those new students from the Elementary Department.
Mr. Velasco also shared some of the common problems they encounter at school in terms of technology advancement and the need for learning from experts, even the teachers need improvements in terms of computer literacy and look forward to the possibility of collaborating with the Hive Community and the developer community who were already working with DBuzz.
They are also grateful for the possibility of having a long-term partnership with DBuzz and Hive to mentor their students to learn more about programming, Web3, and advancement in technology in general.
