Planets, the wandering figures of light in the sky, have a magical effect on many people. That is also the case for me. I often sit outside on a starry night and look at the starry sky. With the help of my DIY-ORBOMAT it is not that difficult to create a fantasy planet. The idea came up during the realisation of my project

"The Cage" I played a bit with different LED attachments on my ORBOMAT. The result were the planets.
I would like to present a few examples to you today.

Planeten, die wandernden Lichtgestalten am Himmel, haben auf viele Menschen eine magische Wirkung. So auch auf mich. Oft sitze ich bei sternenklarer Nacht draussen und betrachte den Sternenhimmel. Mit Hilfe meines DIY-ORBOMAT ist es gar nicht so schwer einen Phantasieplaneten zu kreieren. Die Idee entstand während der Realisierung meines Projektes

"The Cage" Ich spielte damals ein bisschen mit verschiedenen LED-Aufsätzen an meinem ORBOMAT. Heraus kamen die Planeten.
Ein paar Beispiele möchte ich euch heute präsentieren.

On the cover picture you can see the Brick Planet. It shows a planet that has been bricked up. Do you want to live there? 😱 It is a symbol of intolerance and inflexibility and fits well into the current era of censorship and division. I was inspired here by the album "The Wall" by Pink Floyd. The bricks were realised by an LED matrix, which I attached to the ORBOMAT. The ring was created with the help of a turning tool to which a torch with a red colour filter and a light blade was attached.

Auf dem Titelbild seht ihr den Brick-Planet. Er zeigt einen zugemauerten Planeten. Wollt ihr dort leben? 😱 Er stellt ein Symbol von Intoleranz und Un- Flexibilität dar und passt gut in die jetzige Zeit von Zensur und Spaltung. Inspiriert hat mich hier das Album "The Wall" von Pink Floyd. Die Ziegelsteine wurden durch eine LED-Matrix realisiert, die ich am ORBOMAT befestigt habe. Der Ring entstand mit Hilfe einer Dreh-Hilfe an der eine Taschenlampe mit rotem Farbfilter und einem Light-Blade befestigt war.

Similar to the "Brick Planet", the "Wood Planet" was created. For this shot, I only changed the control of the LED matrix. I created the ring system around the planet again with the rotation aid, a torch and a light blade.

Ähnlich wie der "Brick-Planet" entstand der "Holzplanet-Planet". Für diese Aufnahme änderte ich nur die Ansteuerung der LED-Matrix. Das Ringsystem um den Planeten kreierte ich wieder mit der Rotations-Hilfe, einer Taschenlampe und einem Light-Blade.

The Set

It gets really cold on the ice planet". For this shot I changed the direction of the ORBOMAT. Now the lines were drawn vertically. To give you a better idea of how my DIY-ORBOMAT works, I have uploaded a video. There you can see how it works. For a long time I had promised you to share more details about the ORBOMAT. I haven't forgotten and it will definitely appear here on HIVE. However, I still need some time to prepare the article. So be patient a little longer.

Richtig Kalt wird es auf dem Eis-Planeten". Für diese Aufnahme änderte ich die Laufrichtung des ORBOMATEN. Jetzt wurden die Linien senkrecht gezeichnet. Damit ihr euch die Arbeitsweise meines DIY-ORBOMAT besser vorstellen könnt, habe ich ein Video hochgeladen. Dort wird die Arbeitsweise sichtbar. Schon lange hatte ich euch versprochen, mehr Details über den ORBOMAT zu teilen. Ich habe es nicht vergessen und es wird auf jeden Fall hier auf HIVE noch erscheinen. Allerdings benötige ich noch etwas Zeit, um den Artikel vorzubereiten. Habt also noch etwas Geduld.

Finally, I show two mystical planets. For the first picture I mounted an ant lamp (RGB CRITTER by ANTS ON A MELON, INC.) with adapter and acrylic rod to the DIY-ORBOMAT.

The second image was created with the above LED matrix.

Zum Schluss zeige ich noch zwei mystische Planeten. Für die erste Aufnahme montierte ich eine Ameisenlampe (RGB CRITTER von ANTS ON A MELON, INC.) mit Adapter und Acrylstab an den DIY-ORBOMAT.

Das zweite Bild wurde mit der oben genannten LED-Matrix erstellt.

What Is Light Painting?

Light painting is a unique art form. As a rule, the darkness is illuminated by the artist with various light sources and traces of light are painted into the picture with various lighting tools. Various techniques are used, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. When using ND filters, this technique can also be used in daylight. All images were taken during a single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cropping and possibly adjusting the white balance, the images are not processed on the computer.

Lichtmalerei ist eine einzigartige Kunstform. In der Regel wird die Dunkelheit mit diversen Lichtquellen vom Künstler ausgeleuchtet und Lichtspuren mit diversen Lichtwerkzeugen ins Bild gemalt. Dabei kommen verschiedene Techniken zum Einsatz, wie Kamerarotation oder andere Bewegungen der Kamera während der Belichtung. Die kreativen Möglichkeiten sind nahezu unbegrenzt. Bei Einsatz von ND-Filtern kann diese Technik auch bei Tageslicht angewand werden. Alle Bilder wurden während einer einzigen Belichtung aufgenommen. Abgesehen vom Entrauschen, Schärfen, Beschneiden und eventuellem Anpassen des Weißabgleichs werden die Bilder nicht am Computer bearbeitet.
