WHY DO RUSSIAN BUILDINGS LOOK SO TYPICAL

You already have an image in your head as soon as you read "RUSSIAN BUILDINGS".
These are the most common structures and very well recognizable all over the world.

I recorded this video in Kharkov, Ukraine. It used to be the capital of USSR back in the day. These buildings are not only available in Kharkov, but spread very well all over the post-soviet countries.

So it is safe to say that these buildings have their roots deep in the soviet time. The buildings are their history still runs till today, and are very common.

You wouldn't have to go too far away from the city center to find these. In fact, you might even find the city center's modern buildings inspired by these typical structures.
