Some weeks ago I asked, @avdesing to pick a song to learn and play. I didn't do it justice, but I stuck with the idea of playing Argentinian Tango on the Venezuelan Cuatro. So, looking around the plethora of songs in this genre, one came to mind. I thought it was going to be easier than her suggestions, but there are not easy songs in Tango.

Nevertheless, I managed to put together a cover of Volver. This Tango is product of the collaboration between Carlos Gardel, the legend of Argentinian Tango and the poet Alfredo Le Pera. It is a really sad song, but the Tango moves on sad topics. I believe that makes sense since the dance that goes along the music is very intense.

The first time I listened to this was a recording by Simón Díaz in an album named "Tangos y Boleros". It is a beautiful song. And the rest of the versions online are as amazing as the last. Maybe I did it justice here or not. I'll let Amonet decide that.

However, I wanted to take this chance to dedicate this song also to some of the awesome Argentinian folks that make a living in Hive:

Cover de Volver

Hace unas semanas, le pedí a @avdesing que escogiera un tema que le gustara para hacer un cover. Aunque no terminé aprendiendo una de sus sugerencias, me quedé con el tema de tocar Tango Argentino en el Cuatro Venezolano. Así que después de dar vuelta por el repertorio de este género, se me ocurrió cual tema montar. Pensaba que iba a ser fácil, pero resulta que no hay canciones fáciles en el Tango.

Sin embargo, pude aprenderme una versión de Volver. Este Tango es producto de la colaboración entre la leyenda del género, Carlos Gardel y el poeta Alfredo Le Pera. Es una canción con un tono muy melancólico. Aunque esto es común en los temas y sonoridad del tango en general. Creo que tiene mucho sentido considerando que el baile que acompaña esta música es muy intenso.

La primera vez que la escuché fue de la voz de Simón Díaz en el disco "Tangos y Boleros". Es una canción hermosa. Y el resto de las versiones que se encuentran en internet son tan bellas como la anterior. Espero que le haya hecho justicia aquí. Aunque, dejaré que Amonet me diga si lo hice.

No obstante, quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para dedicarle este cover a algunos de los increíbles Hiver argentinos:
