Hello there, my fellow musicians and music lovers!

I wanted to end my take on Tangos with the Venezuelan Cuatro by playing what I consider to be the most famous Tango in the world, "Por una Cabeza". This is usually the kind of tango you'll listen around in television and movies. Some of the melody has become a staple of the genre in media.

This tango is one of the most emblematic pieces by Carlos Gardel and Alfredo Le Pera. The first time I ever listened to this song was during cultural events in school. I don't remember the exact date, but we used to have this Latin American culture day. Once I danced during this day, however, that was a Venezuelan music and dance thing. However, when we had the Argentinian showcase, we had a demonstration of tango in both music and dance.

The music was an instrumental version of "Por una Cabeza". I think that was the day I was hooked on Tango. I mean why not? Tango is an amazing genre of music.

To have a better movement on this arrangement, I had to employ some YouTube videos to understand a key component of guitar playing in Tango, Marcato. This is a technique is the essence of rhythm in Tango. It is the play between accents in a bar to denote the first and third note. It is an interesting world since it has many ways of being played that are akin to each orchestra and players.

So after learning a bit about Marcato and Tango, I decided to record this version.

I hope you like this cover!

¿Cómo no podría?
