Hive Open Mic #133 | Opportunity | El Diablo Suelto | Venezuelan Cuatro Soloist Cover 🎶🎶 (Esp/Eng)

Buen día colegas músicos y melómanos. Hoy vuelvo a esta hermosa comunidad para compartir este cover solista de "El Diablo Suelto". Este es un vals venezolano del compositor Heraclio Fernández. Y debe ser una de las piezas más emblemáticas del repertorio popular venezolano.

¿Qué tan emblemática? Bueno, tanto para que músico de otras latitudes la hayan interpretado. Nombres como Paquito de Rivera y John Williams vienen a mi mente. Solo hace falta meterse en YouTube y ver todas las diferentes versiones que existen de este clásico de la música tradicional venezolana.

Aquí en Hive, podemos encontrar el cover de mi estimada @mipiano, quien con su increíble técnica y recursos de ejecución nos brindó una interpretación magistral y lo hice en ambos tiempos.

A esto último me refiero a que la tocó como el vals que es y luego como se suele tocar hoy en día: muy rápido. Esta última acotación se dio desde que el grupo El Cuarteto, un ensamble de música tradicional con arreglos académicos, la interpretara de esa manera. Así que este vals casi parece un joropo hoy en día.

Mi interpretación es rápida, pero no lo suficiente. Quería lograr esto en menos de un minuto, pero todavía no me da la agilidad. Espero que de igual manera se de su agrado. Fue un intento con mucho esfuerzo. Además, esta es una de una esas piezas que quería aprender para el cuatro solista. En el futuro, espero vovler a este tema y hacer un cover más elaborado. Por ahora quise aprovechar la oportunidad de grabar esta canción.

Hello fellow musicians and music lovers in general. I'm back in this wonderful to share this soloist cover of "El Diablo Suelto". It's a Venezuelan waltz by the composer Heraclio Fernández. And it must be one of the most representative pieces of Venezuelan folklore.

How so? Well, it's been played by many artists over the years. Names like Paquito de Rivera and John Williams come to mind. You only need to type the title in the search bar on YouTube to find out how has performed it. There are tons of version of this classic of Venezuelan music.

Here on Hive we can find a great version performed by our dear @mipiano, who played both tempos. She did the waltz and the faster one. With her skills as a musician, her performance is one of my favorites of all times.

With the tempo, I mean she did what's not usually done over here. The piece is a waltz but since the ensemble El Cuarteto recorded a fast version, everyone has been playing this piece like a joropo.

My performance is fast, but not enough. I wanted to get below the minute mark, but my dexterity isn't the best. Regardless, I hope you find it interesting. I put a lot of effort in recording this and would love to revisit this piece when I'm a better player. Besides, this was one of the top songs in my list when I started learning how to play soloist. And I wanted to take this opportunity to record it.
