Despedida 2023: Linderos / Farewell 2023: Boundary Lines

Nuevamente por aquí con una historia con diferentes matices, uno de ellos un poco triste porque este 17-12-2023 se había planificado un evento de ciclismo y caminata hasta Placivel convocado por la fundación Opa Hans para apoyar a pacientes oncologicos (niños) y otras obras sociales, pero tuvo que ser suspendido por el fallecimiento de dos personas de la comunidad de Pie de Cerro.

Here again with a story with different nuances, one of them a little sad because this 17-12-2023 was planned a cycling and walking event to Placivel called by the foundation Opa Hans to support oncology patients (children) and other social works, but it had to be suspended due to the death of two people from the community of Pie de Cerro.

Ante esta circunstancia, decidimos que este domingo haríamos la ruta de montaña en el sector Linderos, ubicado a 10,7 kilómetros de la ciudad de la Victoria-Aragua, es la misma vía que conduce a Placivel pero con desvío por la carretera de tierra atravesando ríos para llegar a la cruz por una ruta bastante variada de subidas, bajadas y bosque de abundante vegetación. Dejamos los vehículos en un restaurant del sector después de atravesar el río dos veces, desde allí en adelante aun nos faltaban dos pases mas (muy emocionante), a veces se logra atravesar de una vez, otras nos hace bajar de la bicicleta y esto le pone diversión a la aventura.

Given this circumstance, we decided that this Sunday we would do the mountain route in the Linderos sector, located 10.7 kilometers from the city of La Victoria-Aragua, it is the same road that leads to Placivel but with a detour through the dirt road crossing rivers to reach the cross by a quite varied route of ascents, descents and forest of abundant vegetation. We left the vehicles in a restaurant in the sector after crossing the river twice, from there on we still had two more passes (very exciting), sometimes it is possible to cross at once, other times it makes us get off the bike and this adds fun to the adventure.

Linderos es una de las rutas preferida del grupo, esta aventura fué especial porque nos despedimos de los paseos domingueros por este año y quisimos aprovechar al máximo. Al llegar a las defensas un grupo continuo la empinada carretera para llegar a la cruz y otro grupo bajó al río para disfrutar del agua helada, pasado un buen rato emprendimos el regreso atravesando el rio dos veces y sorteando las irregularidades del terreno (zanjas, raíces de arboles, piedras sueltas).

*Linderos is one of the favorite routes of the group, this adventure was special because we said goodbye to the Sunday rides for this year and we wanted to make the most of it. Upon reaching the defenses a group continued the steep road to reach the cross and another group went down to the river to enjoy the icy water, after a while we started the return crossing the river twice and dodging the irregularities of the terrain (ditches, tree roots, loose stones).

Al regresar al restaurant donde dejamos los vehículos nos conseguimos con la grata sorpresa que tenían karaoke y los artistas del grupo hicieron gala de su talento cantando y bailando, también había una cancha de bolas criollas (deporte muy popular de nuestro pais), un pavo real, una guacamaya...un sitio muy bonito para relajarse. Hicimos un paréntesis para ir a almorzar un delicioso sancocho que preparó Marla en su casa para luego regresar a seguir cantando y bailando. Así despedimos este año lleno de alegría, disfrute y compañerismo.

When we returned to the restaurant where we left the vehicles we got the pleasant surprise that they had karaoke and the artists of the group showed off their talent singing and dancing, there was also a court of bolas criollas (very popular sport in our country), a peacock, a macaw ... a very nice place to relax. We took a break to have lunch with a delicious sancocho that Marla prepared at her house and then we went back to continue singing and dancing. Thus we said goodbye to this year full of joy, enjoyment and fellowship.
