Whacktophia Program Day 4 | Cabaret [ESP-ENG]

Hellooo, espero te encuentres muy bien!! La semana pasada participé en un Programa gratuito de Whacking (1er post) organizado por una academia de la que fui parte hace mucho y voy ocasionalmente a ver clases, Musa; y hoy sigo la secuencia de los últimos dos días de esa semana tan increíble que hasta el sol de hoy agradezco por todo lo aprendido y sentido. Sinceramente, no sabía si subirles el video ya que no tiene gran producción, ni la coreogrfía me salió perfecta, pero me decidí hacerlo para inmortalizar el recuerdo aquí en mi Canal, y en futuro ver mis avances a través de el. Además, si solo compartía un post con gifs, quizás no se iba a sentir la energía tan espectacular de la clase de la misma manera.

Hellooo, I hope you are feeling great!!! Last week I participated in a free Whacking Program (1st post) organized by an academy that I was part of a long time ago and occasionally go to see classes, Musa; and today I follow the sequence of the last two days of that incredible week that to this day I am grateful for everything I learned and felt. Honestly, I didn't know whether to upload the video because it doesn't have great production, nor the choreography was perfect, but I decided to do it to immortalize the memory here on my Channel, and in the future see my progress through it. Besides, if I only shared a post with gifs, maybe you wouldn't feel the spectacular energy of the class in the same way.

Y cabe destacar que esto solo fue un 20% de la clase, porque previamente, al igual que el día anterior, realizamos calentamiento y ejercicios que nos ayudaron a soltar y meternos en personaje y en el ambiente de la clase. Específicamente performances y dramatizaciones al ritmo de la canción bajo un personaje que hayamos elegido (es decir, intentar identificarse con algo o alguien y expresarlo), moviéndonos con una o solo dos partes de nuestro cuerpo como protagonistas, y también con elementos (que en mi caso solo llevé unos lentes, ya era lo que más tenía a mi alcance que podría servir, jajaj), utilizandolos como lo que es, y al final, y algo que me gustó mucho, transformar ese elemento en otra cosa y seguir con la dramatización, en mi caso lo transformé en un reloj, jaja.

Yo ese día llegué un poquito tarde a la clase, pero lo que pude entender es que empleamos mucho el teatro para este estilo, porque en sí es una de las cosas que caracteriza al Cabaret; y por supuesto, permitirse ser y demostrar seducción, sensualidad y libertad durante la clase como también le caracteriza, ya que por lo general, es un baile en el que más predominan mujeres.

Nunca antes había tenido la oportunidad de aprender y bailar este estilo, y la verdad, me encantó mucho! Primero por ser un estilo que te impulsa a si o si dejar penas y prejuicios atrás, es muy dinámico y divertido, de hecho ha estado presente desde los años 50 en shows, películas, casinos, restaurantes, etc, por ser tan temático y llamativo; y segundo, porque me acerqué un poquito más a mi, sintiéndome libre, conectada con mi cuerpo y la música... en serio la experiencia fue más que gratificante y enriquecedora... y para finalizar, después de esa interpretación tan fabulosa y específica, dentro de la coreo realizamos Wacks o Rolls (movimientos propios del Waacking) con poses y pasos libres que también me encantaron, porque todo tenía perfecta musicalidad, y la energía que se sentía al bailar era increíble!

And it should be noted that this was only 20% of the class, because previously, as on the previous day, we did warm-up and exercises that helped us to loosen up and get into character and into the class environment. Specifically performances and dramatizations to the rhythm of the song under a character we have chosen (i.e., trying to identify with something or someone and express it), moving with one or only two parts of our body as protagonists, and also with elements (in my case I only wore some glasses, it was what I had at my reach that could be useful, hahaha), using them for what it is, and at the end, and something that I really liked, transform that element into something else and continue with the dramatization, in my case I transformed it into a watch, hahaha.

I was a little late for the class that day, but what I could understand is that we use a lot of theater for this style, because in itself is one of the things that characterizes Cabaret; and of course, allowing yourself to be and show seduction, sensuality and freedom during the class also characterizes it, since in general, it is a dance in which women predominate.

I had never before had the opportunity to learn and dance this style, and the truth is, I really loved it! First for being a style that pushes you to leave sorrows and prejudices behind, it is very dynamic and fun, in fact it has been present since the 50's in shows, movies, casinos, restaurants, etc, for being so thematic and striking; and second, because I got a little closer to me, feeling free, connected with my body and the music.... seriously the experience was more than gratifying and enriching... and to finish, after that fabulous and specific interpretation, within the choreo we performed Wacks or Rolls (Waacking movements) with poses and free steps that I also loved, because everything had perfect musicality, and the energy that you felt while dancing was incredible!

Me sentí muy plena y feliz con esta clase, como siempre digo, amo retarme a hacer cosas diferentes, moverme diferente, pensar diferente, y adquirir conocimientos y herramientas que aporten a mi formación integral como Bailarina. Para mi estas oportunidades son muy significativas y valiosas, intento siempre aprovecharlas y vivírmelas al máximo, y claramente, esta no fue la excepción. I felt very full and happy with this class, as I always say, I love to challenge myself to do different things, move differently, think differently, and acquire knowledge and tools that contribute to my integral formation as a dancer. For me these opportunities are very meaningful and valuable, I always try to take advantage of them and live them to the fullest, and clearly, this was no exception.
