One of those Countless Lovely Memories

DHRUV released Double Take in 2019. It is thought to fall under the r&b/soul genre. It was Dhruv's first single in 2019 and gained popularity over time, especially after it became hit on Tiktok and other people utilized it in their videos. The majority of the time when I open and browse my TikTok app, this song plays in my feed. Aside from its lovely lyrics, the song's rhythm and melody can definitely grab your attention.
This song is said to be about falling in love with a friend and how it may significantly alter your life. To be completely honest with you, I have had romantic feelings for a friend in the past. We met while I was in the seventh grade and he was in the eleventh, making him essentially my “kuya” at the time. At the time, they were the oldest student in senior high school because they were its first pioneers. We first met at the tennis court, when we requested help from one of his classmates to teach and mentor us with our speach choir piece. He was present when his classmate taught us. I got to know him right away because his friends kept teasing him to me. I assumed they were just making fun of him, but little did I know he was already praising me. He kept telling his friends that I reminded him of the American singer and actress Hailee Steinfeld, who has some Filipino blood because his grandfather is half-Filipino. When we first met, he informed his classmates that I reminded him of Hailee Steinfeld, and as the days passed, it's funny to think that everyone in their class began referring to me as Hailee. Additionally, as the days passed, we began interacting on social media, becoming friends, and having conversations. We discuss different and random stuffs, and I'm really impressed by how maturely he handles things, how he clarifies and tells me other things that I hadn't before experienced. At that time, they frequently come to our classroom and play volleyball, some “larong pinoy”, and card games. We became good friends over the course of a few weeks and months, and when I entered the eighth grade and he had already entered his last senior year, I suddenly realized how my feelings for him had grown more intense. Since I lack the strength to express my feelings to him, I decided to let our friendship continue. However, as time went on, I found it increasingly difficult, especially after learning that a classmate who is very dear to my heart had affections for him as well. Even though I've started to have feelings for him, I've continued to be friends with him. We still hang out with our other friends, play cards, eat in the food court and canteen after classes, and when neither of us can sleep in the middle of the night, we talk and make fun of each other. I recognized that becoming friends with him is the best course of action that I can do. There are times—many times to be exact—as their graduation approaches, I wonder what if I tell him how I'm feeling. What if I catch his eye too? what if we can work? I didn't have the gut, though, until after their graduation he entered at a maritime academy and graduated last year, and I'm incredibly proud of what he's accomplished. We're still friends, albeit we're not as close as we once were. I don't regret any of my choices, though; he is now prosperous, and I am content with my life as it is.
In addition, I chose this song because it is one of my favorites. What happened before is already a happy memory in my heart; we are both happy now; he has achieved his goals, and I am currently achieving mine. My heart is giddy right now because I have already found my comfort and solace; I'm happy with who I am with right now, so I don't have any regrets about my past choices.
