    Quirpa

I must confess that I am a lover of Venezuelan music in almost all its manifestations (of which there are more than 300 formally registered) and yet the one that traps me the least is the llanera music. Of course, there are huge exceptions, because a strong bandola makes every cell in my body go wild. But it is certainly not my favorite. There are very specific songs belonging to the folklore of the llanos that I like, some I have sung on occasion and others not. The one I bring today is the first time I sing it. It's funny that I didn't even have to look up the lyrics, because I knew them by heart, but I had never sung them until today.

It is one of the variations of the joropo, which is precisely called "Quirpa", which is also the name of this musical form. The lyrics and the music belong to the Venezuelan folklore, so no author can be attributed to it.

This is my entry for the Folk Music Festival organized by @vdc and @gaborockstar.

    I hope you enjoy it!
